The pipa direction is generally found in the music performance major of the folk music department.

Central China Normal University’s 2021 Musicology, Music and Dance Admissions Application Conditions:

1. Meet the registration conditions stipulated in the 2021 general higher education admissions work, regardless of liberal arts For provinces that have enrollment plans for liberal arts and science, our school only recruits liberal arts candidates; for provinces that implement the "3 1 2" new college entrance examination model.

2. In good health, in compliance with the relevant provisions of the "Guiding Opinions on Physical Examination for General College Admissions", with good facial features, well-proportioned figure, good image, and no diseases in the respiratory, vocal organs, hearing organs, and fingers.

3. Have good musical hearing, good musical memory, and a preliminary grasp of basic music theory.

4. Candidates must obtain the music unified examination certificate of the province where the students are from, and the main subject (or main subject) of the provincial unified examination must include at least one of vocal music, piano, and instrumental music.

5. Candidates whose main subject is vocal music can only apply for bel canto and ethnic singing in our school.

6. Candidates whose main subject is instrumental music can apply to our school only for piano, trombone, violin, viola, accordion, flute, French horn, cello, clarinet, guzheng, erhu, pipa, and dulcimer.
