There is a Chen Kunda in Haojiang

—In memory of Mr. Chen Kunda, Chairman of Shantou Writers Association

There is a person who can never be avoided when talking about literature in Haojiang , he is a native Haojiang scholar, the founder of the Haojiang Literary and Art Association, the pioneer of Haojiang culture, the inheritor and discoverer of local culture, and the leading figure in the Haojiang literary and art circle - Chen Kunda.

In 1964, Dahao Island was still a relatively closed and backward island fishing village. Four or five families lived in a dilapidated old Chaoshan traditional house in Chigang, Dahao Street. Among them was a family of six people who lived in a house of about 30 square meters, divided into two rooms by wooden boards. On a pitch-black night, the dim kerosene lamp wick swayed feebly, and a crisp baby cry of "wow, wow, wow" broke the silent night sky. He was born into an ordinary shipbuilder's family. This space of about thirty square meters adds a new member, ranked fifth, named Kunda. If the previous generation of this new family had not experienced the catastrophes and displacement of the old era, the family that had some cultural heritage would have gone through great changes. However, the seeds in the genes are buried deep in several brothers, and Chen Kunda is the most special one.

Five or six years have passed in the blink of an eye, and all the neighbors are full of praise when talking about him. He has been slow in speech, quick in action, and diligent in thinking since he was a child. These "seventy-two tenants" are full of "weirdos". Some are full of history and stories; some are good at percussion, playing and singing; some are astronomical and divination; some are painters, some are superb in chess; some are calligraphers and poetry couplets. The export is in order... It is in this "big dye vat" that he, who is particularly smart, has been able to do a variety of things since he was a child. "Soaking and soaking", the seven or eight-year-old school age has arrived. This family, which inherits the legacy of its ancestors, has to send its children to school no matter how difficult it is. When he arrived at Chigang Primary School, everything was very novel. He was deeply attracted by the teacher's new education and new knowledge points. He eagerly absorbed the source of systematic knowledge. From "People, Mouth, Hands" to the best composition in the fourth grade, "Golden Fields", the talent of language is gradually stimulated through systematic education. Until he was in the fourth or fifth grade of elementary school, some random opportunities introduced him to a new understanding of traditional knowledge.

Originally, there was a large puddle (formerly known as Zhupai Hang) separating Chikang and Tabu, and young people who were alone rarely interacted with each other. That day happened to be after the third period of classes in the morning. Due to school commitments, school ended early if I did not attend the fourth period. One of the students suggested crossing the pit to the main pond of Bubu to play with the lotus flowers in the pond. He wanted to take a rare moment to relax and satisfy his childishness. There was a refreshing breeze that day, the pond was filled with green water and fragrant water, and the upright lotus flowers swayed in the wind, which was very interesting. When they arrived at the pool, the classmates were playing with water and lotuses, but he picked up the "picture book" from his schoolbag, used a pencil to draw a lotus picture based on the brushwork he learned from "The Stranger" when he was a child, and wrote a poem about Qi Jue Poetry:

The wind shakes the green shadows and fills the pond with fragrance, more busy than the swarms of bees gathering honey.

On the shore, the scholar is teasing, and my heart is flying with the dream of fairyland.

The last private school teacher of Dahao lived by the pool. At this time, he happened to be enjoying the romantic scene of a group of innocent and lively primary school students playing by the pool. He especially noticed a green young man who was independent and independent. He joked that he was writing poems on pictures, but a five-year-old primary school child had such skills, which attracted his curiosity. The teacher came up and asked: "Brother, who teaches painting and poetry? Which school do you study in?" He said shyly: "I am in the fifth grade of Chigang Primary School. I usually use red with my uncle and uncle next to me. I drew pictures on the ground and chanted songs when I had time. The sky was against the earth, the rain was against the sky, the mountain flowers were against the sea trees, and the red sun was against the sky." Haha, Mr. Li said with a smile. Rhyme, it turns out that it can be taught to children." Then the husband led him to a monastery with a quiet and elegant small garden behind it, where he visited a dazzling and rich collection of music, chess, calligraphy, painting, and classical literature. This gentleman is Mr. Zheng Qia, who is famous in Mandahao. He also realized the traditional literature besides modern books. At the same time, under the guidance of Mr. Qia, the art of painting made rapid progress and traditional music was also improved.

In order to meet the needs of the development of the district, we have been obliged to organize three or four professional accounting personnel training courses, cultivating a large number of highly professional accounting talents for all walks of life in Haojiang District. Therefore, wherever he goes, people affectionately call him "Teacher Chen."

Since then, he has become a "night owl", preparing lessons and teaching at night, and at that time, he was looking for literature lovers everywhere. In the mid-1980s, he contacted a group of classmates and people with similar interests. Literary young people organized and founded the "Qingmiao Literary Society" and raised their own funds to publish some folk literature publications, such as "Qingmiao". Due to the lack of social funds, the literary club has no source of funds. This group of young literature lovers struggled to move forward. Under difficult circumstances, the initial enthusiasm gradually disappeared. In addition, he was transferred to work in the Guang'ao Subdistrict Office, and it became increasingly burdensome. The grassroots work in the community was overwhelmed, and the "Qingmiao Literary Society", which was once vigorous, gradually withdrew from the stage of history.

While working in the Guang'ao Sub-district Office, due to work needs, I often walked through houses and alleys, visited the poor and inquired about hardships, and learned about the details of each community. I also learned a lot about human history, legends and allusions, and folk customs. etc., such as the "Shu Fang Pavilion" on the top of Donghu Ridge and the "Weiwu Village Barracks" in Hedu... Therefore, he was deeply attracted by the thick and rich local humanities, history, customs and customs, and began to collect and research cultural and historical materials. Efforts should be made to discover and bridge the cultural gaps caused by the era, so as to facilitate the development and progress of society. This stage can be said to be a rough road to open up the mountains and forests.

In 2000, due to his outstanding work and his successful pursuit of literature, he was transferred to the deputy director of the district propaganda department and chairman of the district Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He is not an "official fan" and does not pursue promotion and wealth. What he needs most is a platform that can realize his long-cherished wish. He always keeps his original intention in mind, devotes himself to developing local cultural undertakings, and gives back what he has learned to his hometown.

People around the house often say: Chen Kunda from Dahao is "an official" in the district. There are several local people in the township who are in the government. I heard that Zhibi is very profitable.

He often told his family and neighbors: This is a kind of responsibility and encouragement. Moreover, working in cultural propaganda work in Haojiang District, which has a rich history of humanities, I really feel unprecedented pressure and walking on thin ice. There are many talented people in Dahao in ancient and modern times, but they just don’t want to show their talents. And I was also pushed to the forefront by the trend of history by chance.

Indeed, for example, the Dahao folk character "Mending the Furnace Window" in his works, Old Uncle Xu, is a "geek" who can "mend the furnace window" at the same time, and can speak well and sing when he sees things. . He always believed that literature exists among the people and there are geniuses among the people.

With a professional platform, the contact area has been broadened and the vision has been broadened. In order to carry out his work better and revive and sink Haojiang's cultural undertakings, he went deep into the people everywhere, went to colleges and universities to find teachers and friends, traveled to Beijing and Sanqin, to Jingchu, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and to Chaoshan. Reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles, conducting archeology and discussing the present, and visiting sages and studying non-stop. He successively became beloved teachers and friends with the great writers and scholars who came out of Chaoshan, such as "Guo Xiaodong, Li Kerie, Wen Yuanhui...", and often visited Rao Zongyi, the great sage in Chaoshan. In Chaoshan, I have a wide literary connection, and all modern literary friends are guests. He is rigorous in personal research. In order to write good articles, he visited mountains, rivers and valleys. He successively collected "Chaozhou Prefecture Chronicles" and "Chaoyang County Chronicles", visited Guangfu culture, and visited "Guangzhou Prefecture Chronicles". Bamboo sticks and mango shoes are easier than horses, who is afraid? A coop of mist and rain will last a lifetime. His pursuit and admiration for literature are just like his inscription: "Let us all come together to look up at the starry sky of literature."

In the early 1990s, he had always been obsessed with Haojiang District, which was so large and rich in humanities and history, that there was no literary association in order to explore and promote local culture more widely and conveniently among the people. . Therefore, I have been sparing no effort to visit and explore, and finally discovered that there is a thriving young literary newspaper "Guangdong Literary Collection" hidden in Haojiang District. It was spontaneously formed by a group of energetic young folk scholars, and the chief editor is actually a young Huang Chunlong, an ordinary teacher at Overseas Chinese Middle School in Haojiang District.

This person is a vigorous scholar, has a scholarly atmosphere, is no less enthusiastic and persistent in literature, and has a good theoretical level. What he lacks are some bad habits of literati, which is also the most valuable quality. He is the best person to entrust and develop folk culture. In the early stages of the initiative, he went around to explore and mobilize local literature lovers in Haojiang to actively participate. He convened many times or had one-on-one meetings in his office to discuss, and took the lead in making suggestions, laying a solid foundation for the smooth establishment of the "Haojiang District Literary Association" in the future.

With his running, appealing and promoting in all directions, in 2011, on the Poets Day, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in the Xinmao year of the lunar calendar, the sun was shining brightly and the wind was gentle. Hundreds of flowers bloomed in the Hepu Danying Garden, and the city and district Relevant leaders, the Municipal Writers Association, literary societies in various districts and counties in Shantou City, poets, writers and literary friends from the Chaoshan Area Writers Association, Shantou TV Station, newspapers and media gathered together with great enthusiasm. Under the announcement of leaders at the municipal and district levels; with the congratulations of various social organizations and individuals; with the support of the district Propaganda Department and his promotion, the "Haojiang District Literary Association" was established. At the same time, writers and poets from the three cities of Chaoshan Social activities, talent performances, literary exchanges, folklore collection and other activities also kicked off. After several years of hard work and nearly a year of active preparation, Haojiang District finally has a formal literary organization with a certain quality and scale. That day, he showed a happy smile from the bottom of his heart! Since then, the Haojiang District Cultural Association has been closely related to him! On the road to the pursuit and development of literature, we must brave the wind and rain and forge ahead!

In order to further enhance the understanding of the humanities, customs and folk customs of Haojiang from other places, we have selected the most representative local stories from the historical allusions that are closest to life, and have been working tirelessly on Shantou Guangdong Teochew Opera 1 and The second group, in 2014, staged the Teochew opera "Ancient City Wind and Thunder" adapted from the story of the ancient city of Tahao, and the Teochew opera "Shu Fang Pavilion" adapted from the love story on the top of the East Lake Ridge. After going through many hardships, Tahao finally had the opportunity to use the story of its hometown as a theme for the public. stage play. There are hundreds of districts and counties across the country. How many local-themed stage plays are there? Haojiang District has a shining cultural business card.

He always spares no effort and exploits every opportunity to promote Haojiang, wishing that the whole country and even the world would know and understand Haojiang. Once, the filming team of CCTV's "A Bite of China" came to Shantou for an interview. He learned that the opportunity was rare, but the column team did not have a schedule for Haojiang, and when they were about to leave Shantou, he rushed there at lightning speed. to leave the scene and ask the column team to give him a few minutes. The reporter of the column team felt strange that the content might not be explained clearly in an hour. What use would a few minutes do? He turned on his phone, and what they saw was a large pot of snow-white fish balls dancing in the boiling water, and baskets of fish rice tightly rolled up in bamboo baskets. They were exquisite. At the banquet, the column team was fascinated by the beautiful food scenery composed of twelve Chaozhou dishes with full color, fragrance and unique shape. This is the perfect combination of art, culture and food. Therefore, the column team unanimously decided to temporarily reshoot and visit Haojiang Food. Therefore, Haojiang has become a famous food town overseas.

In a valley of Dahao Lookout Mountain in Haojiang, ancient pottery jars dating back more than 7,000 years ago were discovered and excavated in Haojiang. In order to find historical evidence, we traveled to and from Guangzhou, the provincial capital, many times to visit. Archaeological scholars sincerely invite scholars from inside and outside the province, mainly famous professors from the History Department of Sun Yat-sen University, to participate in the archaeology. Working day and night, forgetting to eat and sleep, Haojiang's humanistic history has been pushed forward for thousands of years.

While presiding over the work of the District Federation of Literary and Art Circles, he successfully developed the "Haojiang District Calligraphy Association", "Haojiang District Chaozhou Music Society", "Haojiang District Dance Society", and "Haojiang District Chaozhou Gongs and Drums" ...and a group of folk art organizations have filled some gaps in folk art, and most of them have made great achievements. Small seedlings have become towering trees, and folk flowers are blooming everywhere.

However, in a small study room facing the road on the second floor of Haojiang Garden Phase 2, we can often see lights that stay up all night.

When we walk into the study room, we can always feel the aroma of books. There is no luxurious decoration inside. What best reflects it is a set of Ming and Qing style furniture. The antique bookshelves are full of colorful books. The wooden The orchids emitting a faint fragrance are standing tall and tall on the flower stand, calligraphy and paintings are hung on the white wall, and a solid wood desk is placed opposite the chair with delicate lines. There is still a strong aroma of books left by famous scholars and writers lingering here; it is often a gathering place for distinguished guests from the literary and art circles; it is also the place where he worked hard and diligently on paper; a large number of his high-quality and high-level works Most literary creations were also born here. In order to leave Haojiang with a literary work "Scenes and Memories of an Ancient Town" that is easy to understand, readable by both young and old, highly readable and close to local historical chronicles, I traveled around the country to collect stories in my spare time, visited folk village sages, and traveled across mountains and rivers. Wading in the water to collect materials and comparing local chronicles. But he uses friendly local proverbs to tell the story of "Zhongpintou, in front of Shengsi, Suzhou Street, inside the ancient city, the faintly shiny stone road, the bamboo raft pit with gurgling green water, the small street with wooden houses..." The past events and evoked memories warm memories. Climb the Dieshi Mountain to remember the "Ghost Master Chen Yingyou", look up to "Xu Gong" in the ancient city, and walk through the alleys of Chaoshan residential houses to find the legend of "Master Zhang Gong"... He tried his best to explore the "humanistic birthmark" of the ancient town. "Tracing historical traces", discovering the "customs and folk customs" in "a place of water and soil", discovering the most authentic "countryside scenery", and "tasting art stories" from the "anecdotes and legends" of "hearing people on Haoshang" in ancient and modern times "About", spiritually returning to the "spiritual home" of the ancient town. Isn't the passionate outcry in "A Tribute to a Street" a true expression of caring about one's homeland and loving one's hometown!

His love for Haojiang is just like the lyrics of "Song of Haojiang", the image theme song of Haojiang District he composed:

There is a magical cloud on this side of the sea, a small town The past and present are written in stacked stones, and the tide rises into a thousand-year promise. Dream seekers never retreat and dare to start all over again. Ah Haojiang, ah Haojiang, blood creates brilliance, sweat expresses heroism, as high as the sky and as high as the sea, we will win the applause of the world and the world! There are many outstanding talents on this side of the sea, and the innocent nostalgia will always remain true to the original intention. The red-headed ship of the year sets sail again today, and dream seekers ride the wind and waves to let the love in their hearts fly. Ah Haojiang, ah Haojiang, open to the sea and sky, connected with the energy of the five continents, the blueprint has been drawn in the spring, and history will remember the style of creation and creation. Ah Haojiang, ah Haojiang, standing at the top of the sky, showing heroic spirit, singing the future together heart and hand, creating an era that belongs to us and ours.

The lights on the second floor finally went out, and a large number of his well-known works and texts were shining brightly, illuminating the hearts of readers.

We often say that the modern development of literature started from "starting" and "on the road". Unexpectedly, when he was in his prime, he reached the "end" ahead of schedule. We can only use words to commemorate this Haojiang literary friend and scholar who contributed to Haojiang cultural undertakings, and comfort Chen Kunda who will always be in our hearts.

Oh: There is a Chen Kunda in Haojiang!
