Relatively speaking, why Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are richer in original music than the mainland, and why? It used to be, but now the development of the mainland is not as good as before.
Since World War II, Hong Kong and Taiwan have been influenced by popular music from Europe, America and Japan. Since the 197s, Hong Kong and Taiwan's music began to blend with local music. In particular, Hong Kong used Cantonese to write lyrics, which was welcomed by Hong Kong people. Taiwan Province took Minnan culture as the foundation of its creation. As a result, many talented musicians emerged. In addition to covering songs from Europe, America and Japan, these musicians also created a large number of songs. In particular, the folk song movement in Taiwan Province has greatly promoted the localization of music creation. At the same time, the mainland was dominated by revolutionary songs. Only after the reform and opening up in the 198s did pop music begin to appear, and many musicians tried to compose songs based on China's cultural traditions. From Gu Jianfen and fu lin to Li Haiying and Liu Huan, during this period, they experienced the stages of imitating Hong Kong and Taiwan's music, communication, northwest wind, learning European, American and Japanese music, and then blossoming. In the 21st century, a group of young musicians stepped onto the stage, showed their distinctive music to people, and gained a large number of fans. Among them, Wang Leehom and others who came from Europe and America to develop in China brought European and American music directly. At this time, many young musicians returned from studying abroad or learned foreign music concepts through study tours, which better integrated European and American music with local music. A group of musicians from Hong Kong and Taiwan and foreign countries came to China to be music producers or music directors of variety shows, and a group of singers from Hong Kong and Taiwan came to the mainland to develop, which all played a role in promoting the development of domestic original music. So at present, the development of original pop music in China is still very good. However, some music types failed to enter the mainstream because they did not conform to the national conditions.
