Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" is the soundtrack to Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream". In non-church weddings, Wagner's "Wedding March" is more commonly used. This is the mixed chorus used by the ladies to guide the newlyweds into their bridal chamber in the third act of Wagner's opera "Lohengrin". It was adapted into orchestral music and became the current "Wedding March". This piece of music has a beautiful melody, a slow tempo, and is solemn yet lyrical. It is a perfect match for newcomers.
