Waltz Dance
Waltz, perhaps among many music genres, is the most relaxed, beautiful and smooth dance music with the most relaxed melody. Some people also transliterate it as " Waltz". The waltz originally originated in Austria and Germany and became popular at social dances in the royal court and upper class society in the second half of the 18th century. Waltz generally uses 3/4 time, emphasizing the stress on the first beat. Because the rhythm of the waltz is brighter and smoother, the melody is more undulating and graceful, and the dancers are more elegant and moving as they sway to the music. It is a dance music that is deeply loved by European royal courts and upper class society.
We all know that before the waltz appeared, what was popular in European royal courts or at social dances of the upper class were steady, elegant, monotonous melody, ladies and ladies. They all have to hold up their skirts, bow down and dance to stiff music. Due to the emergence of the waltz, its melody is passionate, full of emotions, strong dynamics, and increasingly fast, bringing new changes and lively atmosphere to the royal court and upper-class social dance occasions, and it gradually replaced Other dance music.
The waltz once had a very brilliant achievement in the history of Western music, so much so that most of the dance music we hear today were created during that period. Such as "Skating Waltz", "Emperor's Waltz", "Sound of Spring Waltz", "Vienna Woods Waltz", etc. In China, there are many composers who are combining the foreign waltz genre from the West with their own oriental national music genre, and have successively created many waltzes that are rich in national style and characteristics, calm, implicit, passionate and joyful. Such as "Spring Waltz", "Youth Waltz", "Youth Friendship Waltz", etc.
We all know that the waltz is just a kind of music that is very suitable for playing at dance parties. But waltzes can also use different forms and unique styles, and can express different contents and rich emotions in large-scale concerts. This can be proved by the waltzes created by many famous composers. Especially one composed by Austrian Johann Strauss in 1867. It is popular and has been circulated for a long time. It is also called the second national anthem by the Austrian people and is used as the second national anthem at the New Year's Concert held in Vienna every year. The traditional music "Blue Danube Waltz" is played when the New Year's bell rings. This waltz was originally a male and female chorus singing about the beautiful Danube River. Its full name is "On the Bank of the Beautiful Blue Danube River". The lyricist is the German poet Carl Beck. The poem reads: You are sentimental, young and beautiful, gentle and kind-hearted, shining like gold in a mine. The true love awakens there, beside the Danube River, beside the beautiful blue Danube River. The sweet fragrance of flowers soothes the shadows and wounds in my heart. The flowers on the barren bushes are still blooming. The nightingale sings gracefully beside the Danube River, beside the beautiful blue Danube River. In July of the same year, Strauss personally conducted an orchestral performance without a choir at the Exposition Universelle in Paris and achieved great success. So much so that what we hear now are orchestral music, and the lyrics in the songs have long been forgotten.
The entire piece of music is in the form of a Viennese waltz, consisting of a prelude, five waltzes and an ending. At the beginning, the violin played a soft vibrato, which made people feel the mist-wrapped, silent and peaceful morning scene of the Danube River. In the soft ascending sound, it seems as if the Danube is waking up from its slumber. When the intensity of the sound is slowly increased, it is like the dawn of dawn in the east, the sky gradually becomes brighter, and the riverside scenery is full of poetic and picturesque scenery. Then the melody of the music becomes faster and the rhythm of the horn appears, which symbolizes the beginning of a new day when the Danube River is bathed in the morning light. Finally, five waltzes were played in succession. Each waltz contained two contrasting theme melodies, making the music full of vitality, as if it was a praise of the Danube River in spring and an optimistic outpouring of optimism. People have a feeling of intimacy and novelty, a feeling of softness and warmth, a feeling of enthusiasm and unrestrainedness, a feeling of vitality and a feeling of excitement and comfort with a sense of dance rhythm. The climax of the final piece reproduces the theme music of the prelude, and ends in a carnival atmosphere like wind and rain.
The song "Spring Waltz" was also popular in my country in the 1950s and was recited in the streets and alleys. The melody is also very soft and smooth, euphemistic and beautiful, with free rhythm, presenting a carnival dance scene, symbolizing the coming of spring. The song sings emotionally; Spring is here, the earth is laughing, and the bees are buzzing. The wind blows the treetops, how beautiful it is, how beautiful spring is, how beautiful it is. The flowers are blooming, beautiful violets, spring is coming, it is coming, so bright and wonderful. The roses smile at us, the beautiful spring sunshine, the golden sunshine is so warm. The dew shines like pearls on the green land, birds sing in the treetops, white clouds flutter like veils in the blue sky, and beautiful and fragrant flowers bloom everywhere. The dancing pairs of people in the waltz dance scene are still fresh in my memory.
The waltz is over. In fact, I still like the dance music "Swan Dance" created by Russian Tchaikovsky very much. He composed the waltz for the Swan Dance and incorporated it into the unified concept of the symphonic suite, making the waltz a compositional means of in-depth depiction and psychological experience, especially his "Melancholic Waltz". After unveiling the light waltz, it shows the deep melancholy of intellectuals in the Tsarist Russian era when facing their own fate. This is a unique waltz in 4/5 time that he created based on the characteristics of Russian folk beats. It also makes full use of many profound contemplative and lyrical themes.
I like waltzes with melancholic thinking~
