The School of Art of Yangtze University was established in 1996. Its predecessor was the school’s Art Teaching and Research Office established in 1982. The college consists of music department, art department, dance department and public art teaching and research section. It offers musicology, music performance, fine arts (Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, mural, sculpture), art design (visual communication, environmental art, Digital design), dance, dance performance and other undergraduate majors. Since 2007, it has jointly recruited postgraduate students in computer composition and production. It is an important art education, production and research center in the Yangtze River Basin. The college has 1,264 full-time undergraduate students.
