Donnie Yen, born on July 27, 1963 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, is an actor, director and martial arts instructor in Hong Kong, China.

In 1982, he returned to the United States from studying martial arts in Beijing and won the U.S. martial arts championship that year. In 1992, he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for "Once Upon a Time in China". In 1995, he played Chen Zhen in the TV series "Fist of Fury".

In 1997, he directed and acted in the movie "The Legend of Wolf Warriors". In 2002, he served as the action director of "Blade Runner 2". From 2003 to 2004, he won the Best Action Design Award at the 40th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards and the Best Action Design Award at the 23rd Hong Kong Film Awards for the movie "A Thousand Years of Action".

In 2006, he won the Best Action Design Award at the 25th Hong Kong Film Awards for the movie "Slaying the Wolf". From 2007 to 2008, he won the Best Action Design Award at the 44th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards and the Best Action Design Award at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards for the movie "The Fuse".
