His name can be seen on many singers' official albums, and he arranges songs for some singers.

In 1988 BEYOND released a selection of "Old Footprints" and held a concert at the college auditorium. At the concert, Liu Zhiyuan officially announced his withdrawal from BEYOND.

The male backing vocalist at BEYOND's Contact Life concert in 1991 was one of the members of Ukiyoe, Leung Qipak, who is now also an outstanding behind-the-scenes music producer in Hong Kong. Liu Zhiyuan has always been in contact with BEYOND. After Huang Jiaju's death, he also participated in the arrangement and production of many BEYOND records.
