Lang Lang, born on June 14, 1982 in Shenhe District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, is a Chinese piano player and United Nations Peace Envoy. He graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States.
Lang Lang was born in a family full of music atmosphere in Shenhe District (formerly Dadong District), Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Under the influence of the family environment, Lang Lang developed a strong interest in music at a very young age.
When Lang Lang was 2 and a half years old, he was attracted by the "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2" played by Tom Cat in the cartoon "Tom and Jerry", and thus developed a strong interest in the piano player's fingers. Without a teacher, he played the basic melody on the domestic upright piano at home. From then on, his father Lang Guoren began to teach him the piano.
