The original version of "Shaolin Kung Fu is Good" was created by Stephen Chow, but its melody was borrowed from the masterpiece "California Dreaming" by The Mamas and the Papas.

"Shaolin Kung Fu is Good" was sung by the fifth senior brother played by Stephen Chow and the senior brother played by Huang Yifei in a bar. Stephen Chow also appeared to laugh at the time, but the song did not have a clear source. But the more common saying is that it borrowed the melody from California Dreaming.
