: Zhang Yixing (LAY), born on October 7, 1991 in Changsha City, Hunan Province, is a male pop singer, film and television actor, music producer in Mainland China, and a member of the Korean male singing group EXO/EXO-M. In 2005, he participated in Hunan Economic Television's "Star Academy" competition and won the third place in the finals. In 2008, he became a trainee under South Korea's SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. through the selection of S.M. Casting System in China. In July 2012, he officially debuted as a member of the EXO group and its sub-team EXO-M.
