There are five main styles of modern pop music:
1. Blues?
Blues came into being in the 189s. "Blues" has multiple meanings. Besides the music type, it can also be regarded as an adjective on the scene. Usually, when people see this word, they often immediately think of melancholy and sadness, which is the basic characteristic of blues music.
2. Jazz?
Jazz, with its dynamic syncopation rhythm, full-featured jazz harmony and unconventional improvisation (or singing), has won the love of the broad audience and been recognized by people from all walks of life in the music field.
On the basis of Bruce and Ragtime, it was gradually formed by mixing some white music elements and improvising in the form of a small wind band. After a whole century of development, it is now colorful and full of flowers. ?
3. Country music?
Country music appeared in the 192s. It originated from the folk music in south china agriculture, USA, and was first developed under the influence of traditional British folk songs. The earliest country music is traditional mountain music. Its tune is simple, its rhythm is steady, and it is narrative. Different from the sad pop songs in the city, it has a strong local flavor. ?
4. Hip-hop
hip-hop is a kind of black culture that began on the streets of the United States more than 2 years ago, and also refers to rap. The four manifestations of hip-hop culture include rap (speaking rhythmically and rhyming), b-boying (street dancing), dj-ing (playing record and disc skills) and raffiti writing (crow painting). ?
5. Rock music
In the early 195s, there was a three-legged phenomenon in the American pop music market. The music enjoyed by blacks is mainly rhythm and blues, while whites above the middle class listen to Ding Bang Xiang songs, while rural listeners in the midwest like country music related to rural life.
however, in the mid-195s (about 1954-1956), two obvious phenomena appeared in the record market, namely "market crossover" and "cover version".
"market crossover" refers to the record that was originally released in one market and achieved good results in another market at the same time. For example, some songs are among the best in the R&B sales list, and they are also popular in the Pop (referring to the popular songs at that time, the continuation of Ding Bang Xiang songs) list.
Seeing this profitable cross-market situation, some big record companies quickly produced their own versions based on popular R&B songs, which led to the emergence of a large number of "cover versions". At this time, the three markets that had been separated suddenly asked that the fence in the middle had fallen down, and a new style of music-rock music was born in this ruin.
