Tokyo International Film Festival:

The Tokyo International Film Festival (T.I.F.F), which started on May 31, 1985, is jointly sponsored by the Tokyo International Image Culture Promotion Association and the Tokyo International Film Festival Organizing Committee, and is one of the nine A-level film festivals in the world today. The film festival is scheduled to be held from late October to early November every year. The aim is to discover new people and reward young directors, and it is required that the director's works in the formal competition should not exceed three. Therefore, the shortlisted directors are mostly new generation filmmakers. It has been recognized by the International Film Festival Alliance, and is the largest film festival in Asia, along with famous film festivals such as Shana and Venice. Since 1992, it has been held once a year.

The Chinese feature film "Old Well" won the grand prize of the 2nd (1987) Film Festival, the "Tokyo Governor Award" and the best actor award (Zhang Yimou); "Chinese New Year" won the "Special Award of Jury" and the Best Actress Award (Zhao Lirong) in the 4th (1991) Film Festival.
