Several classifications of tinnitus:
1. Nervous tinnitus
Nervous tinnitus is characterized by tinnitus that may be loud or small, usually a continuous long sound, such as the chirping of cicadas or the chirping of a telephone, or the sound of running water, wind, or machinery. Waiting for the sound.
2. Conductive tinnitus
The cause of conductive tinnitus is obstacles in the conductive part of the auditory system, such as swelling and blockage of the external auditory canal, perforation of the tympanic membrane, invagination, inflammation of the middle ear, adhesions, and sclerosis, etc. Sound transmission disorder reduces the ability to hear external sounds and weakens its function of masking the sounds occurring in the body, making them perceptible and becoming tinnitus. Furthermore, the sound transmitted into the ear through bone conduction is blocked due to conduction barriers, which increases the perception of the sound in the ear and becomes a whirring sound like the wind, mainly at low frequencies. . We can try it ourselves. Cover our ears with one hand and feel a roaring sound in our ears. This is typical conductive tinnitus.
3. Pulsatile tinnitus
Pulsatile tinnitus is when the patient complains of tinnitus in the ears that sounds like the beating of the heart or blood vessels. Some are like waves or some are like pulses. They are very regular. Observe carefully. Its beating rhythm is mostly consistent with the beating frequency of the heart. This type of tinnitus is often classified as objective tinnitus.
