Realm
What is the task of philosophy? I have suggested that, according to the tradition of Chinese philosophy, its task is not to increase positive knowledge about reality, but to improve people's spiritual realm. It seems appropriate to explain more clearly what this means here.
I once said in the book "New Original Man" that the difference between humans and other animals is that when humans do something, they understand what they are doing and do it consciously. It is this awareness that makes what he is doing meaningful to him. He does various things with various meanings, and the various meanings integrated into a whole constitute his realm of life. This constitutes everyone’s life realm, this is my way of saying it. Different people may do the same thing, but each person has a different level of awareness, and what they do has different meanings for them. Everyone has his own realm of life, which is not exactly the same as any other individual's. Regardless of these personal differences, we can divide various different realms of life into four levels. Starting from the lowest, they are: the natural realm, the utilitarian realm, the moral realm, and the realm of heaven and earth.
A person may just follow his instinct or the customs and habits of his society. Like a child or a primitive man, he does what he does without any awareness, or not very much awareness. In this way, what he does has no or little meaning to him. His realm of life is what I call the natural realm.
A person may be aware of himself and do various things for himself. This does not mean that he is necessarily an immoral person. He can do things whose consequences are beneficial to others and whose motives are self-serving. Therefore, everything he does has utilitarian significance to him. His realm of life is what I call the utilitarian realm.
Some people may understand the existence of society and they are a member of society. This society is a whole, and he is part of this whole. With this understanding, he does all kinds of things for the benefit of society, or as Confucianism says, he does things to "justify his justice and not seek his own gain." He is truly a moral person, and everything he does is moral behavior in a strict moral sense. Everything he did had moral significance. So his realm of life is what I call the moral realm.
Finally, one may realize that there is a greater whole beyond society as a whole, the universe. He is not only a member of society but also a member of the universe. He is a citizen of the social organization and at the same time what Mencius calls a "citizen of heaven". With this understanding, he does all kinds of things for the benefit of the universe. He understands the significance of what he is doing and realizes that he is doing what he is doing. This awareness constitutes the highest realm of life for him, which is what I call the realm of heaven and earth.
Among these four realms of life, people in the natural realm and utilitarian realm are the people they are now; people in the moral realm and the realm of heaven and earth are the people people should become. The first two are products of nature, and the latter two are spiritual creations. The natural realm is the lowest, the higher one is the utilitarian realm, the higher one is the moral realm, and finally the heaven and earth realm. The reason why they are like this is that the natural realm requires almost no awareness; the utilitarian realm and the moral realm require more awareness; and the realm of heaven and earth requires the most awareness. The moral realm has moral values, and the realm of heaven and earth has supermoral values.
According to the tradition of Chinese philosophy, the task of philosophy is to help people achieve the moral realm and the realm of heaven and earth, especially the realm of heaven and earth. The realm of heaven and earth can also be called the realm of philosophy, because only by gaining some understanding of the universe through philosophy can we reach the realm of heaven and earth. But the moral realm is also a product of philosophy. Morality is not simply a matter of following moral laws; a moral person is not simply a person who develops certain moral habits. He must understand the moral principles involved in his actions and life, and it is the task of philosophy to give him this understanding.
People who live in the realm of morality are sages, and people who live in the realm of heaven and earth are saints. Philosophy teaches people how to become saints. I pointed out in Chapter 1 that to become a saint is to achieve the highest achievement of being a human being. This is the noble task of philosophy.
In "The Republic", Plato said that philosophers must rise from the "cave" of the sensory world to the intellectual world. When a philosopher reaches the world of reason, he reaches the realm of heaven and earth. But the highest achievement of a person in the realm of heaven and earth is to identify himself with the universe, and in this identity, he transcends reason.
Chinese philosophy has always tended to emphasize that in order to become a saint, one does not need to do anything unusual. He cannot perform miracles, nor does he need to perform miracles. What he does is just what ordinary people do, but because of his high level of awareness, what he does has different meanings to him. In other words, he did what he did in a state of enlightenment, and others did what they did in a state of ignorance. Some people in Zen Buddhism say that the word "jue" is the source of all wonders. The meaning arising from consciousness constitutes his highest realm of life.
So Chinese saints are both worldly and worldly, and Chinese philosophy is also worldly and worldly. With the progress of science in the future, I believe that religion, its dogmas and superstitions will surely give way to science; but people's desire to transcend this world will surely be satisfied by the philosophy of the future. The philosophy of the future is likely to be both worldly and worldly. In this regard, Chinese philosophy may contribute something
For the persistence of love
Time flies, and eight years of teaching career have passed in the blink of an eye. Looking back at the bits and pieces of the past years, counting the stories of the past, I sigh: Life has given us so many touches, and we have been moved for the sake of true love, we pursue, we are persistent...
I just worked, Full of confidence. However, everything is not as beautiful as imagined. For the first time, I went to the classroom to announce the composition competition notice with great joy. The students were tempted by the prizes. They talked loudly, laughed and made fun, no matter how loud I shouted or the blackboard eraser. The sound of banging on the desk was so harsh. They were talking and laughing to themselves. I had no choice but to angrily walk away. When I left the classroom door, tears welled up in my eyes. It seemed that it was really difficult for me to love them. The old teacher stroked my shoulder and comforted me who felt aggrieved: "They are all children, and we all came from that time. Who was not naughty back then?" This made me suddenly enlightened. Suhomlinsky said: "What does it mean to be a good teacher? First of all, it means that he is a person who loves children and feels that it is a pleasure to interact with children. He believes that every child can become a good person and is willing to learn from them. They make friends, care about children's happiness and sadness, understand their children's hearts, and never forget that they were once children. "Thus, I learned that educating children must start with love. From then on, I communicated with them as a big sister and friend. The big boy who was angry with me back then is now my friend, and he is willing to tell me many things that his parents don’t know about. Every winter and summer vacation, Teacher's Day, they come to see me in groups. They always think about me, and they have become a constant concern for me. What is unimaginable is that I am only a subject teacher who has taught them for two years, but we have the same spiritual connection, and they are my harvest and pride from the beginning of teaching.
The simple and repetitive busyness every day may make us forget the impact of small things around us, and we miss a lot of vividness in our busyness. During a small exam, I caught Yang Ting plagiarizing her deskmate's paper. I didn't say anything at the time. After class, I called her to the corridor. She blushed, lowered her head, and waited nervously for my severe criticism. I said: "This is a small problem. Teachers also made such mistakes when they were in school. I believe this is your first and last time." She nodded heavily and bowed deeply to me. Later, she wrote in an essay entitled "The person who has the greatest influence on me": "But this time I admitted my mistake, this young teacher was no longer in my heart." This sentence deeply shocked me. , maybe our unintentional look, an action, or a word will change the child's character and affect his life. I deeply understand that successful education comes from understanding, tolerance and heartfelt love for students.
Learn to love students bit by bit and slowly integrate into each other's lives. It is students who enrich our simple days and sublimate our thoughts.
In 1998, when I was 26 years old, I got an ovarian cyst. I discovered a hard mass in my left lower abdomen in early May, but I was busy with work and didn’t take it seriously. I was hospitalized immediately when I went to the hospital for a checkup during the summer vacation. The mass had reached 17×9cm. The surgery was scheduled for the next day, and the doctor worriedly said: "If it's too late, my life will be in danger." The day after the surgery and the sutures were removed, I was returning to school. I took the bus to school with my belly in my hands and was covered in sweat. I struggled to climb upstairs to see the students in class. The wound, which had not yet healed, was torn open due to exercise. Under the scorching sun, I was so weak that sweat and blood soaked through my thin shirt. When I came back, the wound became suppurated and inflamed. It could not heal for a long time. I still have this memory on my belly to this day. When school starts in the fall, few people know about this. I am very glad that I have not delayed any students due to small personal matters, including the biggest happy event in my life - getting married. I am the bride tomorrow, but I am still standing on a three-foot podium this morning, and my wedding will be held at my husband’s house in another place. I have no time to ask or think about anything important in my life, including coming from afar. None of my classmates made good arrangements, but my mother attended my wedding exhausted and full of talk. After the wedding, I rushed to work dressed in plain clothes. My students didn’t know that the teacher’s wedding they were so longing for was already a thing of the past. I also want to use this opportunity to have a good rest, spend a few days with my newlywed lover, or travel somewhere, but in my hands I hold the fate of 87 classmates, who are about to make the first choice in their lives, the opportunity to travel. A lot. Children only have one high school entrance exam, and I can’t afford to delay it. I know: Loving one's own children is an instinct, and loving other people's children is a sacred act.
Yes, teachers are beacons, guiding students on their night voyage and correcting their deviated course; when they succeed, they use earnest teaching to make them realize that there is a road longer than their feet; when they are frustrated, When we are young, we help them regain their old dreams. Our children are sick and we cannot take care of them. It is difficult for us to be filial to our parents. We are not seen in the lingering flowers and moonlit nights, and we have suffered for one of our children. Taking care of dozens of other people's children, in this glorious group of ours, everyone has their own difficulties in life, but as soon as we step into the school gate, we face so many pairs of eyes hungry for knowledge and the hope of the future. , no matter how big things are at home, they become trivial matters, and no matter how small things are at school, they become big things. Full of pride, the ever-changing smile blooms on our faces. Deep in the hearts of our teachers, there is always loyalty to education, hot love for students, and for the persistence of love, we are tenacious, we are strong, we pay, we contribute, we have no complaints... This is the teacher's soul. We use our youth, blood, and lives to cast the glory of the motherland’s education and write our ordinary and magnificent lives!
Teacher's Day Speech: Play the most beautiful music with both hands
"Nervous mornings, busy days, sleepless nights, plus tired weekends", people often To describe the life of a teacher in this way, just as a song once sang: "In the quiet night, the stars are shining, and the teacher's window is bright all night long...". Indeed, the work of teachers is hard, but the teaching profession is noble. It is related to the future of the country and the reproduction and development of human beings. Therefore, from the day I became a people’s teacher, I secretly made up my mind that I would never I am ashamed of the sacred name of "teacher".
I still remember that when I first stepped on the three-foot podium as a teacher, I was full of excitement and pride. However, facing students who didn’t even know the staff and the simple teaching environment, I I began to doubt my choice, but the responsibility of teachers once again awakened me. The more students are like this, the more they need teachers to teach them how to behave, teach them knowledge, and make them useful talents in society?
So, I carefully observed each student and taught students in accordance with their aptitude. I boldly changed the "full class" teaching model and established a new teacher-student relationship of equality, unity, and friendship with the students. Finally, the students liked it. I fell in love with this subject.
My piano lessons have been rated as high-quality courses at the provincial and municipal levels, and the piano papers I have written have won many awards in national, provincial, and municipal essay competitions. During the chats with students during class, I learned from countless childlike innocence In the eyes of the innocent and lively students, I can feel their thirst for knowledge and desire to become talents.
In the kindergarten class I teach, there is a student named Meng Xin who is very studious. Her ideal is to be admitted to a higher music school, but her family is in a very difficult situation and cannot afford a piano. , looking at my child’s curious eyes, I decided to take her to my house to practice piano every night. I don’t know how many rest days I have sacrificed, how many opportunities to reunite with my family have been missed, and how many times I have been praised by my young son. For bad mother, finally, three years later, on a sunny day in August, when she ran up to me out of breath with the admission notice from Shenyang Conservatory of Music and was so excited that she couldn’t speak, I was more excited than her. I shed tears of happiness first, and once again I felt the infinite joy and pride brought to me by the selfless dedication of the people's teachers.
Teachers respect students by treating them fairly and equally. There was once a boy in the music class who didn’t like to practice the piano during class and often failed during the piano inspection. However, he made an unprecedented breakthrough in a piano inspection. He played very well. I gave him a high score and praised him in front of the whole class. After class, he said to me: "Teacher Wang, you praised me that day, and I didn't sleep all night." Looking at him With that serious look, I wanted to laugh but held it back and said, "I hope you will keep trying and persevere." "Thank you, Teacher Wang." After saying that, I made a face and ran away, and my heart felt like It tasted as sweet as honey. Since then, he has made obvious changes. He practiced piano seriously during class and often asked me questions. So I often encouraged him and told him stories about raising children to learn piano. In the end, he gradually grew from a low-achieving student to a great student. A good student, he also achieved excellent results in the school skills competition. This also made me deeply realize how important the impact of teachers' words and deeds on students is! Flowers need the nourishment of sunshine, children need the care of their mothers, and students need the care and respect of their teachers.
Mr. Tao Xingzhi, the great modern people's educator, took "Love all over the world" as his motto throughout his life. He said: "There is Watt under your pointer, Newton in your cold eyes, and Edison in your hungry smile." It is for the countless Watts, Newtons, and Edisons in the future of our motherland that I will give my full love to my children. As a student, in terms of property, I have nothing but nothing, but I am rich and have countless students in return for their love for me. The postcards that fly out every year on New Year's Day and Spring Festival are the best proof. Where can money buy this priceless treasure?
“I am willing to spin all the silk for the spring silkworm, and I am willing to turn into a red candle to illuminate the world.” I vow to dedicate my youth to this sacred cause and play the most beautiful music with both hands

The third realm of life
Remember the kindness others have shown us, wash away our resentment towards others, and then we can fly freely in the journey of life.
Selfless love and devotion are the foundation of human existence and the beauty of the world. As long as there is a correct general direction and the support of love, nothing is impossible.
Some things are too late when you want to do them or are able to do them more perfectly.
First of all, you must become a cultivated person. First, you must have compassion. Second, you must be able to overcome strength with gentleness. Never ridicule the unfortunate.
The lingering influence of giving to others always makes the recipients feel inferior, and as a result, the inferiority complex turns into hostility. Although you do not intend to repay kindness, you must be careful to avoid any grudges. Good wishes must be accompanied by good methods to achieve good results.
The reason why big people are tall is because you are kneeling; you admire the halo on their heads, but ignore your own life and value.
Your body is huge, but all you need in life is a heart! Being wealthy is the same as being fat, it's just getting more than you need. For a healthy life, anything superfluous is a burden.
Some people say that God is like a shrewd businessman. If he gives you a genius, he will give you several times the suffering of the genius. This is true.
God is very stingy and will never give all the benefits to one person. He gives you beauty, but he will not give you wisdom; he gives you money, but he will not give you health; he gives you genius, but he must match it. A little suffering... When you encounter these dissatisfaction, you don't have to blame others, let alone give up on yourself. The best way is to encourage yourself like that teacher did: We are all apples bitten by God, but God likes me very much, so this bite is just bigger.
It’s just that many times, God puts suffering on the surface and hides talents in various ways.
Being irresponsible for your own life is like stealing from yourself.
The most fundamental difference between outstanding people and mediocre people is not talent or opportunity, but whether they have a goal in life! For people without goals, the passage of time only means the growth of age, and mediocre people can only repeat themselves day after day. Maybe we were not satisfied with our mediocrity; maybe we complained about the boredom of life; however, when we set goals for ourselves and move forward persistently, our lives will open up a new chapter. One page.
We don’t stop every day. The only difference is whether we are a “horse heading west” or a “donkey spinning in circles.”
Having evil thoughts in your heart is hell; having a good heart is heaven.
A better life starts from the chosen direction. Without a clear direction, you will go around in circles. This is true in the desert, and it is also true on the road of life.
We reap what we sow.
Growing up in a comfortable and smooth environment will only result in superficiality.
When we allow others to control our emotions, we feel like victims and powerless to deal with the situation, and complaining and anger become our only options. But a mature person holds the key to his own happiness. He does not expect others to make him happy, but can bring joy and happiness to others. He is emotionally stable, takes responsibility for himself, and being with him is a pleasure, not a pressure.
Life can be simple, but it cannot be rough. Exquisiteness and beauty are not necessarily related to material conditions such as wealth and poverty.
