In p>1971, in order to welcome the Asian table tennis friendly invitational tournament held in Beijing, the relevant departments asked the Military Orchestra of the People's Liberation Army of China to compose a March for Athletes. In a few days, seven or eight comrades respectively composed a single melody score of the March of Athletes. After some comments, everyone agreed that the theme written by amateur composer Wu Guangrui was better, but it still needed further processing. The league leaders decided to send professional creators Jia Shuang and Wu Guangrui to complete this glorious task together.
In order to write "March for Athletes", Wu Guangrui had many heart-to-heart talks with athletes, watched their sports competitions, read relevant sports materials and listened to some famous March songs at home and abroad repeatedly. In the gymnasium, when the athletes entered the stadium heroically, Wu Guangrui personally played and sang this piece of music, asking the athletes to follow the beat of the music. After the hard work of Wu Guangrui and other comrades, this heroic "March of Athletes" was finally born.
