First we need APE and corresponding CUE files. APE is a lossless compression format for CD audio tracks, and CUE is the index of each song. If the cue file is lost, cutting will be more troublesome, and you need to use professional tools such as Adobe Audition to observe the waveform and process it manually. Not discussed here.
Use foobar2000 to open the cue file, and then you can see all the songs in APE in the playlist. Use CTRL + left click to select the required songs, and then click "Convert" - "Convert to" in the right-click menu. (Figure 1)
In the opened "Converter Settings", select "APE-monkey's Audio: Normal" as the encoding preset. Then click OK and select a location to save the output. (Picture 2)
Well, APE for singles has been born. It has the flexibility of MP3 while maintaining lossless sound quality. Why not?
TIPS: The APE conversion of foobar2000 is performed by calling mac.exe of Monkeys Audio. If the following menu pops up before conversion, it means that mac.exe has not been installed correctly. At this time, you can manually specify mac.exe in the Monkeys Audio installation directory, or you can reinstall foobar and check "mac.exe" in "Conversion Components". exe". (Picture 3)

Don’t worry about APE cutting! A very good tool to split the entire large APE file into a single APE song!
Find a good tool to split the entire large APE file into a single APE song!
Let’s borrow an introduction from the previous similar software cuteape (but this cuteape has a fatal flaw and can only split APE made in version 3.97. APE made in version 3.99 and above will report "insufficient memory" and has stopped development!):
APE format audio files are popular among many friends because of their moderate size and excellent sound quality. But now many APE files circulating on the Internet often contain all the songs in the entire album, which brings inconvenience to our daily listening. If we want to listen to the fifth song in the album, we must drag the progress bar to locate the song, and we also need to try repeatedly during the positioning process to find the correct position. Can these APE files be cut into individual song files? This can be achieved using one piece of software.
This software, called CUE Splitter, current version: 0.6beta8, can not only split APE, but also WAVE, MP3, and FLAC! It is very famous abroad and is available in multiple languages, including Chinese!
I have used it and I feel it has several benefits:
1. Perfectly supports multi-language CUE files such as Chinese; and it is also a Chinese version;
2. List all the tracks and split which one you want, professional!
3. Fast speed;
4. The sound quality is exactly the same as the original, without changing the encoding at all!
5. Free software, no registration required!
In the future, you can freely choose good songs from the album to record!
Medieval CUE Splitter is a good tool for splitting the entire music file into separate tracks. On the contrary, it is a perfect match with Monkey's Audio. To be honest, this is a must-have tool for my installation!
