Nanjing Confucius Temple is located on Gongyuan Street on the north bank of Qinhuai River in Qinhuai District, Nanjing City, to the west of Jiangnan Gongyuan, namely Nanjing Confucius Temple, Nanjing Confucian Temple and Wang Wenxuan Temple.
As the hub of ancient Chinese culture and the gathering place of history and humanity in Jinling, it was not only the cultural and educational center of Nanjing during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, but also the tallest cultural and educational building in the southeastern provinces. It is now an important part of the Qinhuai Scenic Area of ??Confucius Temple.

1. Xuegong
The Xuegong is located in the north of the back street of Dacheng Palace. Hall, Zunjing Pavilion, Qingyun Tower, Chongsheng Temple and other ancient buildings. Mingde Hall is the main building of the academy. During the imperial examination period, scholars came here every month to listen to lectures and lectures.
The academic palaces in China are all called "Ming Lun Hall", while the academic palace of Confucius Temple is called "Ming De Hall". It is said that it is because of the "Ming De Hall" plaque inscribed by Wen Tianxiang in the Song Dynasty. In 1986, during the maintenance of Mingde Hall, the four "Zhidao", "Jude", "Yiren" and "Youyi" buildings on both sides were restored.
2. Dacheng Hall
Dacheng Hall is the main hall of Confucius Temple. It is 16.22 meters high, 28.1 meters wide and 21.7 meters deep. In the middle of the hall hangs the largest portrait of Confucius in the country, 6.50 meters high and 3.15 meters wide.
Fifteen kinds of ancient musical instruments for worshiping Confucius, including bells and chimes, are imitated 2,500 years ago. Ancient music and elegant music are performed regularly, and large-scale music and dances of the Ming Dynasty that reflect the etiquette of worshiping Confucius are performed. The audience heard the music of bells, drums and harps from the Spring and Autumn Period, showing the style of ancient music from more than 2,000 years ago.
The main hall is surrounded by murals depicting Confucius’ achievements, both in form and spirit. The temple is surrounded by two verandas and stele corridors. The walls are inlaid with 30 authentic calligraphy stele inscriptions written by famous calligraphers such as Zhao Puchu, Lin Sanzhi, Shen Peng, and Wu Zhongqi. In the stele gallery, there is an exhibition of Yuhua stones, which is known as "one of the unique features of China".
