She shared with us how her time at Hong Kong University of Education opened many doors for her academic and career.
1. Designing tailored community music programs
Gigi's enthusiasm for music education is undeniable, so when asked what she likes to learn most in music education, she told us: "I believe music can be used to change children's lives. Integrating music education into a wider community and promoting lifelong participation in music can benefit the whole community and enrich learners' experience. "
2. Establish an educational sharing laboratory
3. Instruct musicals, plays and performances
4. The thesis has the opportunity to show to the world
" During the whole education and training period of Hong Kong University of Education and other organizations, I have been able to reach out to different target groups, such as the elderly, children with special educational needs and teenagers who are suitable for tailor-made community music courses. For them,
"I want to adjust what I have learned and apply it to the local community, especially in providing training for local teachers and music practitioners. By contacting researchers and practitioners, we can continuously develop our practice and bring music to people at all levels of the community, thus having an impact on the development of music education. "
so, what's Gigi's next step?
She said, "I hope to bridge the gap between practitioners and scholars, so as to create a space, provide professional development opportunities for colleagues, and provide a way out for new ways of education and promotion of music.
"I hope to continue to form and organize seminars in different communities, so that more musicians can join in and add more vitality to the music industry."
