Route planning

Starting from the urban area, take Lianshi East Road to the Beijing-Kunming Line, to the Xiayunling Jingeryu intersection, turn left and go up Hongjing Road. Go to the Hongkang Port of Woniu Village, take Shixia Road to the direction of Shidu on Laibao Road, go to the Liudu exit, continue to turn left onto Liushi Road, and walk along Liushi Road to Shibancai Village in Xiayunling, go to the Beijing-Kunming Line, and follow the original Road back to the city.

Specific itinerary and points of interest along the way

The first stop on Hongjing Road is Jingeryu, which is the dividing point between Shidu and Xiayunling, and also where Xiayunling enters Hongjing. The first viewing platform on the road is the largest viewing platform on the entire road section. Follow the scenic trail across the road to the top of the mountain. It takes about 15 minutes and you can have a panoramic view of the mountains. Be sure to stop and stop. There are many vendors doing small business on the platform. There is an old-fashioned popcorn popcorn maker on the north side of the starting point of the scenic trail. The location where he is standing belongs to Xiayunling Town, and the south side of the starting point of the trail belongs to Shidu Town. The only restaurant on Hongjing Road is also here. It is recommended that tourists who are not very hungry go to Shidu or Liudu for a solid meal.

Keep going forward, which is the music road of Hongjing Road. There are road signs two kilometers away. Keep the speed at 50-55 miles, and the right tire is completely on the white markings. Continuing forward, we arrived at the best viewing platform on Hongjing Road. This platform is very narrow, and the driver consciously parked his car on one side so as not to affect the passage of oncoming vehicles. After passing the Music Road, we are very close to Shidu. During the epidemic, the scenic spots were not open, so we continued to drive to Liudu, the junction of Laibao Road and Liuhe Road. The scenery was beautiful, and some restaurants were open to the public. Most of the diners were self-driving and motorcycle enthusiasts. After having dinner here, we went up Liuhe Road. There are several viewing platforms on the road. Although Liuhe Road is not as spectacular as Hongjing Road, it allows you to feel the beauty of walking through a fairy tale forest. This section of road has more sharp corners and curves than Hongjing Road. Compared with Hongjing Road, Liushi Road makes me feel the fun of self-driving more.

Just out of Liuhe Road is Shibancai Village. Sometimes there will be epidemic prevention inspections when passing through the village, and you need to show your health code.

Exit Liuhe Road and take the Beijing-Kunming Line directly to return to Beijing.

The scenery of Liushi Road on Hongjing Road is very beautiful. It is the most beautiful self-driving road in Fangshan. The road is narrow and there are many motorcycles. You must drive carefully, and pay special attention to motorcycles overtaking or crossing the road. When the road is curved, the oncoming vehicle will make a big turn to cross the boundary.

It is recommended to drive in from the Xiayunling entrance and exit in the direction of Shidu. Don’t miss the music trail. After arriving at Shidu, you can visit nearby scenic spots such as Baihua Mountain and Gushan Village according to your needs.

There are several ginseng restaurants near Liudu that are of good quality and low price. I have been to them many times and they are worth recommending.
