In July 1959, the first generation of broadcasters carried forward the spirit of hard work and entrepreneurship under very difficult conditions, and broadcast the radio call sign in less than five months. On October 1, 1964, due to the development of the situation, Yantai Radio was renamed as "Shandong People's Broadcasting Station Yantai Relay Station". Until October 1, 1984, Yantai Radio resumed broadcasting. Since then, Yantai radio has entered a brand-new development period with the pace of the times. On October 1, 1987, the radio station launched the host program "Friends of the Audience" for the first time. On March 1, 1993, the whole station changed from recording and broadcasting to live broadcast.

On October 1st, 1994, the Economic Literature and Art Station (now the Economic Life Channel) was built and broadcast to the outside world.

On October 1st, 25, Yantai Radio and Music Channel was launched. In order to meet the needs of the audience, improve the cultural quality of the citizens, and provide a good public opinion atmosphere for the city's catch-up and development, Yantai Radio and Television Bureau raised more than 1 million yuan to open the first set of genre broadcasting in Yantai-Music Channel. This round-the-clock music broadcast was officially launched on October 1, 25 after two months of trial broadcast.
