Liu Chi (1921-1998), formerly known as Liu Deyin, was a native of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, and a famous musician and composer in China. Liu Chi composed 14 operas, thousands of songs, many instrumental plays and dance music, and radio gymnastics music throughout his life. He has composed music and interludes for more than ten movies. Fu Gengchen, chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association and composer, once said of Liu Chi, "He is one of the most accomplished composers in the history of modern Chinese music after Nie Er and Xian Xinghai. ”
