The tour guide previously made a story album about the old buildings on Dongping Road, introducing It tells the history of the High School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. It was founded by He Luting, a famous Chinese musician, when he was the dean of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In fact, whenever you pass by Shangyin High School, you will be attracted by the mansion inside the school gate.

This is the wedding gift "Ai Lu" given by Song Ziwen to Chiang Kai-shek and Song Meiling. My mother-in-law's family was rich and generous, and they got a villa as a gift. However, this villa is now called "Ai Lu", the former residence of Chiang Kai-shek in Shanghai. Although Chiang Kai-shek didn't actually live here for a long time, Soong Meiling did live here for a while, because her brother Soong Ziwen and sister Soong Ailing both lived nearby, so it was very convenient to visit relatives. Kong Xiangxi, the husband of Song Ailing, and their residence are also located in Shangyin Middle School, just east of Ailu. The two residences can be walked in less than a minute. The two sisters visit each other - this is really too close! ! !

Chiang Kai-shek was known as a soldier and had no real estate to his name. When he was newly married, he lived in a private house on Ladu Road provided by a friend. Today, at No. 311 Xiangyang South Road, it is now an ordinary private house, and the house is very small. However, Chiang Kai-shek did not need to buy a house himself. The next year, his brother-in-law gave him a house as a gift. Chiang Kai-shek called this residence "Ai Lu". Before going to Taiwan in 1949, Chiang Kai-shek took Chiang Ching-kuo back to Ai Lu to "take another look." At that time, Soong Meiling went to the United States. It can be seen that Chiang Kai-shek was very fond of this new residence for his wedding. Like it.

This mansion covers an area of ??9,300 square meters. In fact, the main building Ailu only covers an area of ??450 square meters, so most of the remaining area is the garden. Nowadays, Ailu is not open to the public as the piano room of the high school attached to the Conservatory of Music, but the garden can still be visited, and along the way you can hear the sweet sounds of piano, drums or violins coming from the building.

The garden is located to the south of Ailu, across a small road. It is now a rare green space landscape in Shangyin High School. It is very beautiful, with cobblestone paths, swings, grass, vegetation, pools, fountains, rockeries... Although It cannot be compared with the scale of the garden, but it is also a very comfortable leisure place, which ordinary people still cannot imagine.

Nowadays, tourists passing by will sit on the swings, rest and look at their mobile phones...

The paths in the garden can be said to be winding paths, with dense vegetation and shady trees, even if they are It's also very cool in the hot summer. Deep in the garden, there is a fountain, a pool of water, and stone tables and chairs for sitting, very quiet.

In fact, when I entered the door, I was attracted by the Ailu on the right, and then I went around to the back of the building to browse the garden. I turned around and noticed that there was a small road across the street. To the east was the former residence of Kong Xiangxi.

The towering fireplace chimney, the windowed gable, the spacious terrace, the continuous semi-circular arch porch... are very exquisite. This house is very different from the style of Ailu. Ailu is a French-style garden house with clear water pebbles on the wall; Kongzhai has a flat creamy yellow exterior wall, which belongs to the residential style of North Germany or Denmark. It was renovated on a large scale in 2008. It has been repaired and the building looks in very good condition.

Going up the stairs and standing in the corridor looking at the garden next to you, you feel relaxed and happy.

Stroll around this beautiful campus, accompanied by the faint sound of music in the wind, admiring the gorgeous old houses, and feeling the imprint of urban development...
