The instruments used in Guangdong music were initially relatively simple, with the pipa as the main instrument, accompanied by the zither, Xiao, Sanxian, Coconut Hu, etc. Then came the combination of the second string, the third string of the fiddle, the yueqin and the horizontal flute. Later, the erhu began to play the main part, accompanied by Qinqin and Yangqin; later, some silk and bamboo instruments and Western instruments were added.

As the matching of musical instruments becomes more and more perfect, the expression forms of Guangdong music become more abundant.
