The purpose of NLP is to replicate excellence. It is to summarize the procedures used by outstanding people to achieve results and refine them into a set of clear and feasible techniques so that ordinary people can follow them and achieve the same outstanding achievements.
About outstanding people and successful people
Excellent people refer to people who have achieved higher achievements in a certain field. For example, the world's richest man Bill Gates, scientist Franklin, US President Lincoln, Tang Emperor Li Shimin, red-top businessman Hu Xueyan, oil king Rockefeller, musician Beethoven, literary giant Shakespeare... they are all outstanding people who will be known to all. From the above definition, an outstanding person is someone who is successful in something. Therefore, they may also be an excellent cleaner, as long as he can do a good job in cleaning; he may also be a student, as long as he is proficient in learning.
Successful people: In contemporary times, the more popular definition of successful people is people who have achieved certain achievements in wealth, power, fame, etc. Some people think that a successful person is someone who achieves his or her goals.
It can be seen from the above definition that the so-called successful person does not necessarily have an excellent program, so he is not necessarily an outstanding person. A person's extraordinary wealth, power or fame may be due to his family background, chance (such as winning the Mark Six Lottery) or the pursuit of others (like some "singing stars" who are hyped to become popular). ). They are not the main objects of our study, because NLP does not study luck, or how to get a good pregnancy. The core of its research is subjective experience, which is a program that can create outstanding results. On the other hand, outstanding people are not necessarily successful in the minds of ordinary people, because they do not necessarily have extraordinary wealth, power or fame.
Excellence and success are not in conflict. When an outstanding person uses his outstanding talents to obtain extraordinary wealth, power or fame for himself, he becomes a successful person in the eyes of the public.
NLP’s definition of success
As we said above, the more popular definition of a successful person is a person who has achieved certain achievements in power, wealth, fame, etc. Others use personal "happiness" as a criterion for success. That is, no matter what gains or losses you have in Vanity Fair, as long as you live a life you like - even if you just run a small fruit stand, if you live a fulfilling and happy life, you will be considered successful.
In general, the former focuses on the realization of social value, while the latter focuses on the perfection of personal value. NLP cares about balance, that is, to achieve the balanced development of social value and personal value. NLP believes that success is the process of achieving meaningful goals in a positive way.
If you are a radiant star in the eyes of outsiders, but your family is separated or you are tired of what you are doing for a long time, and you just want to throw the microphone into the Atlantic Ocean and live an ordinary life, then You are not successful. Of course, we cannot say that Socrates was a complete failure just because he was at odds with his wife. We don’t demand perfection. As long as anyone has excellence in some aspect, it is worth learning from us. NLP does not exclude them from the scope of research. Even if you deeply hate the tyrant-like friend in front of you, but if you are envious of his hands that turn a pile of dirt into a powerful work of art, then you still need to learn his "secret".
