Introduction of Sichuan Conservatory of Music:
Sichuan Conservatory of Music, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a provincial full-time undergraduate college with "art" as its main school-running feature. It is one of the 11 independent professional music colleges and one of the 31 independent art colleges in China. Master's degree awarding unit, the first batch of MFA education pilot units in China, national college students' cultural quality education base, Sichuan postdoctoral innovation practice base, and social and artistic level examination institutions.
Sichuan Conservatory of Music was founded in 1939 as Sichuan Provincial Drama Education Experimental School, and then went through the development periods of Sichuan Provincial Music Experimental School, Sichuan Provincial Technical College, Sichuan Provincial Art College, Chengdu Art College and Southwest Music College. In 1959, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded and renamed Sichuan Conservatory of Music, becoming one of the six professional music colleges with undergraduate education level in China at that time. In 1986, with the approval of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, the school obtained the right to confer master's degrees.
