1. Music Education
The music education major aims to train students to become current and future music educators. Using innovative, contemporary and relevant music content and teaching practices, students gain musical literary, pedagogical and technical skills that enable them to become outstanding educators and help their future students realize their full musical potential . Students will learn skills, concepts and teaching methods in music theory, composition, music history, arrangement, orchestration, improvisation, conducting and music performance.
2. Music Therapy
As a music therapy major, you will learn to connect, inspire, and heal others through the medium of music. During the school year, in addition to completing the college's core music courses, students are also required to conduct internships, clinical studies, and collaborate with different musicians, teachers, and industry professionals.
The skills you need to be a professional music therapist include music theory, music history, composition, arrangement, keyboard, guitar, vocals, improvisation and conducting. These are just the basics, as well as therapy Principles, specificity therapy, and therapeutic relationship skills. Upon completion of the program, students will engage in 1,040 hours of clinical placement at an accredited site and will be evaluated based on the skills and competencies listed above. Students need to prepare to take the certification exam to obtain the MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified) certificate.
3. Music production
The music production major can quickly enable you to enter the current field of music production, allowing you to become an efficient professional anywhere. The knowledge you learn on campus and the experience you gain outside will prepare you to adapt to changing industry needs.
