What are these files of BDMV used for?

BDMV is a type of Blu-ray Disc image file format, usually used to store audio, video and image data on Blu-ray Discs. The BDMV file contains all audio and video tracks, menus, chapters and other information on the Blu-ray disc, and can be used for playback on a Blu-ray player or computer.

In addition to STREAMed M2TS files, other files in BDMV files are also useful. For example, a BDMV folder usually contains one or more subfolders that store video, audio, subtitles, and other related files. These files may be related to menus, chapters, audio tracks, etc., and therefore may need to be selected or configured during playback.

If you just save the BDMV file on your hard drive for collection and do not need to play it or perform other operations, you can delete it, which will not affect your hard drive or other files. However, if you want to use these files in the future, such as playing them on a Blu-ray player or doing other things, deleting them may be inconvenient. Therefore, before deleting, make sure you no longer need these files and back up important data to avoid unnecessary data loss.
