The Music Department, the predecessor of the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, was established in 1985, and 1986 officially enrolled students majoring in music education. It is the first department in Sichuan province to set up a major in music education, and began to recruit undergraduate students majoring in music in 2000. June, 5438+February, 2005, with the approval of the administrative office of the college, it was renamed as the Conservatory of Music of Mianyang Normal University, and June, 5438 +2008 10, renamed as the Conservatory of Music and Performing Arts. The college has full-time undergraduate majors such as musicology (music education), musicology (dance direction) and music performance, and a three-year junior college major in music education. There are more than 800 full-time undergraduate and junior college students.
