Hammett used to translate "Han nationality", also called "Ham Man". "hammett" means "the descendant of Ham" and is named after the legend in the Jewish classic Genesis. It is said that the ancestor of hammett was Hamu, Noah's second son.
In the past studies on Africa, hammett people were generally divided into the northern branch and the eastern branch: the northern branch refers to Berbers, and the eastern branch refers to ancient Egyptians, Copts and Kuhitters.
