What mobile phone chips has MTK produced so far?

MTK has three types of chipsets:

The first is the power chip. Currently, MTK has two power supply chips, namely MT6305 and MT6318.

The second type is the radio frequency chip. At present, the radio frequency chips of all MTK models use MT6129 and MT6139 chips to achieve signal reception and transmission.

The third type is the CPU chip, also called the main control chip. The MTK chip we usually refer to refers to the CPU chip.

MT6205, MT6217, MT6218, MT6219, MT6225, MT6226, MT6227, and MT6228 are all baseband chips, so the chips all use ARM7 cores.

MTK’s early CPUs, such as 6205, 6217, 6218, 6219 and other FLASH data are not encrypted, while later CPUs such as 6223, 6225, 6226BA, 6228, 6230, etc. all have encrypted FLASH data. Here, data encryption means that mobile phones of the same model are incompatible with each other. These chipsets have also grown from being simple at the beginning to becoming mature and even outstanding step by step:

MT6205 is MTK’s earliest chip solution. It only supports the basic functions of GSM and does not support GPRS, WAP, MP3 and other functions. At this time, MTK is just a mobile phone, without any third-party extensions.

MT6218 is slowly developing, adding some basic entertainment functions such as GPRS, WAP, MP3 and so on based on MT6205.

MT6217 is a low-cost solution for MT6218. It is fully pin-compatible with MT6128, but the software is different. In addition, MT6217 supports 16bit data.

MT6219 is based on MT6218 and adds a 1.3 million camera processing chip with built-in AIT, adds MP4 function and supports 8bit data.

MT6225 is a music phone solution, VGA camera phone, GPRS, excellent power consumption.

Chips starting from MT6226 and later can support the web camera function, which means that your mobile phone can be used for QQ video, or you can connect your mobile phone to a computer and use it as a computer camera, etc.

MT6226 is a low-cost solution product of MT6219. It has a built-in 300,000-pixel camera processing chip and supports GPRS, WAP, MP3, MP4, etc. The internal configuration is optimized and improved compared to MT6219. For example, it uses a very cheap chip for Bluetooth. CSR's BC03 module USD3 can support the data transmission function.

MT6226M is a high-configuration design of MT6226. It has a built-in 1.3 million camera processing chip, expands music formats, and supports AVI and 3GP.

MT6227 has basically the same functions as MT6226, except that it has a built-in 2 million camera processing chip.

MT6228 has more TV-OUT function than MT6227, built-in 3 million camera processing chip, supports GPRS, WAP, MP3, MP4, etc.

MT6229 is an upgraded version of MT6228. It adds EDGE, sliding screen and other functions based on 6228. The other functions are still the same.

MT6230 has a built-in 1.3 million camera processing chip.

MT6235 has a built-in 2 million camera processing chip. There are currently many mobile phones using 6235, and many of the latest MTK models on the market use 6235 chips, such as all Sharp's MTK mobile phones, Tianyu v760, Lenovo i60/i60s/x1/x1m/, Osun's T9, Haier's H2, etc. The maximum supported resolution of 6235 is 240*400, and the maximum supported camera is 3.2 million pixels.

MT6238 has a built-in 3 million camera processing chip and supports mobile TV

MT6239 has a built-in 5 million camera processing chip. The operation interface is theme-changeable, and due to its high CPU frequency, Therefore, the system response speed of mobile phone models using the MT6239 platform is faster and faster than other chips. The MTK6239 platform also supports richer multimedia functions. For example, 5 million pixel camera, 640×480 resolution, 30 frames/second dynamic shooting, 30 frames/second H.264 format MPEG4 video playback, and support for the currently popular CMMB mobile phone, and also supports G-Sensor gravity accelerator and Complete JAVA application. These rich features are beyond the reach of previous MTK platforms, but currently there are only a few models on the market such as the OSUN M55, Philips 806 OPPO P51, etc. that use the MT6239 platform design.

MT6253 single-chip solution MediaTek's first GSM/GPRS mobile phone single-chip solution MT6253 integrates digital baseband (DBB), analog baseband (ABB), power management (PM), radio frequency transceiver (RF) Transceiver) and other basic components of mobile phone chips, and supports rich multimedia functions such as mobile phone cameras, high-speed USB and Class D audio power amplifiers.

MT6516 Smartphone Solution In addition to MT6253, MediaTek’s first smartphone solution MT6516 was also a blockbuster. MT6516 supports WVGA-level LCD resolution, MPEG-2 decoding, and integrates a variety of video codecs to support mobile TV application standards such as CMMB, DVB-T, and DVB-H. Most importantly, MT6516 is the industry's first smartphone solution that can support the above powerful multimedia functions without the need for an external multimedia processor (AP). In the past, two or more chips were required to achieve the same function.

The latest MT5921 WLAN chip is compatible with MediaTek's full line of baseband products, including 2G, 3G and smartphone solutions, and supports WAPI and Wi-Fi standards. It is understood that the MT5921 chip launched by MediaTek has super wireless Internet link capabilities, which can greatly increase the Internet speed of mobile phones. It also supports simple security settings, which can greatly improve the user experience. It is understood that supporting WAPI is the only specification required to pass the CTA (Network Access Test) WLAN test item today. Using MediaTek MT5921 WLAN solution will help mobile phone manufacturers increase product competitiveness, reduce costs, and increase sales areas.
