The founder of Taoism, Qiu Zu (1148-1227), whose courtesy name was Tongmi and whose Taoist name was Changchunzi, was a native of Qixia, Dengzhou (now part of Shandong Province). He was a Taoist priest in the early Yuan Dynasty during the Jin Dynasty and one of the seven northern truths of the Quanzhen sect of Taoism.
