Entertainment Music

Having been exposed to jazz since the age of twelve, coupled with solid classical music training, Lin Hai's music exudes a unique temperament. His piano is like the sparkling waves of Impressionism; the sudden modulations are surprisingly clever; a simple motive can develop into dazzling light and shadow; a simple melody can instantly transform into a magnificent romance. He plays between classical, New Age, modern and jazz styles, which are clean, ethereal, warm, quiet and natural. The faint literary flavor makes the music exude humanistic temperament, and the simple and quiet creative style reproduces his own spiritual world.

Listening to his music has become the greatest enjoyment, because I have discovered the improvisation in freedom and the freedom in improvisation.

Music Style

About my music style: Since I started making music, I have never defined my music style. Whatever you think of, you can do whatever you want. The advantage is that the styles are diversified, but the disadvantage is that the styles are not unified. When the media occasionally asks me about my music style, I am always speechless. Fortunately, if you listen carefully, you can still find a bit of "Linhai flavor"; traditional academic imprint, New Age (NEWAGE), classical plus pop, a little bit of jazz and occasionally world music. I think this is probably my style. Maybe just call it "Lin Hai style", or simply "four different styles". Generally speaking, my works are on the light side, and they basically require "quality". You need to be able to calm down. If you can really calm down, you should be able to experience it. Some works can even heal. It’s what the planner calls “soul music.” You'll discover a lot of things you never discovered before. The best way: at night; alone; with lights off; good stereo or headphones with a well-adjusted volume. A glass of wine, of course. The most taboo: talking and being crowded (of course, it’s okay to treat it as pure background music at this time). ——Lin Hai
