Shanghainese. 1950 began to learn pipa and other national musical instruments, and joined the amateur national band of Shanghai Radio Station. 1954 studied pipa from Lin Shicheng. 196 1 graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music. From 65438 to 0970, he joined the Central Orchestra as a soloist. 65438-0983 taught in China Conservatory of Music, and served as the director and vice president of folk music department. 65438-0979 Member of the Fourth National Committee of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. 1979, 1985 served as the third director and the fourth executive director of China Musicians Association. He inherited and developed the pipa playing skills and played many traditional pipa music, such as House of Flying Daggers and Chun Xue. At the same time, he is also good at creating, adapting and playing new pipa music. Representative works include Swan, old boys, Liuyang River and Singing a Folk Song for the Party. He has collaborated with Wu Zuqiang and Wang Yanqiao in the pipa concerto Little Sisters of Prairie Heroes, and performed with the Central Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra Symphony Orchestra and the West Berlin Symphony Orchestra.
