Who said that music education is not to train musicians, but to train people?
"The main purpose of music education is not to train musicians, but to train people" is what educator Suhomlinski said.

Suhomlinski (1918-1970) was born in a peasant family in Ukraine, and was an educator in the 20th century in the Soviet Union. /kloc-he began to devote himself to education at the age of 0/7, and has served as a rural primary school teacher, a middle school Chinese teacher, a teaching director, a middle school principal and a district education bureau director. Among them, he served as the principal of Pavlis Middle School for 22 years until his death.

In decades of educational practice and research, based on the theoretical principles of materialism, pedagogy and psychology, from the present situation of education in the Soviet Union, combined with the educational thoughts of outstanding educators in the Soviet Union, Suhomlinski conducted in-depth and systematic research on various educational issues in practice.

His major works include One Hundred Suggestions for Teachers, Dedicating My Heart to Children, Pavlis Middle School, Parental Pedagogy, etc.

Suhomlinski emphasized the cultivation of people with "all-round and harmonious development of personality". He believes that in order for students to realize the comprehensive and harmonious development of personality, the first thing is to discover "the wealth hidden in everyone's heart" as much as possible. This wealth is the potential intelligence of students, and education should let students see their own characteristics and generate self-confidence.

Especially for students with poor intelligence, students can't be measured by a ruler, and they can't "see only one petal but not the whole flower". In terms of educational content, Suhomlinski advocates the coordinated development of moral education, intellectual education, physical education, aesthetic education and labor education.

In his view, all aspects of education are interrelated and interpenetrating, and it is an organic, unified and complete process, and the central links that play a decisive role are moral education, intellectual education and labor education.

Another feature of Suhomlinski's educational thought of "comprehensive and harmonious development of personality" is to advocate "self-education", which is the key factor for students to truly receive education and become people with "comprehensive and harmonious development of personality". "Self-education" requires self-esteem, self-restraint and self-improvement education for students.
