Kabarevsky died in 1987.

Kabarevsky was born on December 30, 1904 in St. Petersburg. Former Soviet composer, music educator, and music activist.

Graduated from the composition class and piano class of the Moscow Conservatory of Music in 1929 and 1930 respectively.

Taught at the Moscow Conservatory of Music since 1932.

From 1940 to 1946, he served as editor-in-chief of the magazine "Soviet Music".

From 1949 to 1952, he served as deputy director of the Music Department of the Institute of Art History, Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union.

Since 1952, he has been the Secretary of the Soviet Union of Composers.

He has led the Children’s Music and Aesthetic Education Committee since 1962.

Since 1969, he has been the chairman of the Aesthetic Education Committee of the Presidium of the Soviet Academy of Educational Sciences.
