Traditional harmony, from the appearance of multi-voice music in early Europe, to the formation and maturity of harmony thinking, and then to the complete establishment of major and minor sound systems, has reached an unprecedented peak (in the sense of pure harmony) before the end of the19th century, and has become its own glorious golden age. /kloc-In Europe in the first half of the 0/9th century, with the development of industry and the improvement of social and economic conditions, more and more urban residents began to seek music entertainment, and many easy-to-understand music works came into being. "For example, Rubinstein's melody in F major was written for family piano entertainment; The johann strauss family wrote a lot of dance music for the dance, and the overture of Rossini and Weber also became the program of the "pop concert" at that time. " [2](p47) As a musical phenomenon, pop music appeared in Europe in the19th century. It can be seen that the language of pop music comes directly from the early tradition of romantic music. Since the second half of the19th century, pop music and romantic music have taken different paths of development: on the one hand, romantic music continues to be complicated in the direction of artistic music; On the other hand, pop music was brought to the "new world" of the United States by European immigrants. At first, its style did not change much. Since the 1920s, the widespread spread of African-American music, such as R&B and jazz, has had a great influence on popular music. After a century of development, it originated from the traditional harmony of early romanticism, combined with the blues style of early American black music, and developed through jazz and rock music. [3](p48) This paper will briefly expound the characteristics of pop music from the aspects of harmony marks, harmonic progression, chord composition and creative thinking.
