The original me had nothing to do with being on duty, because the school always arranged for leaders to be on duty. Today, although I am not a leader, I still have to be on duty because I have to obey the school's arrangements.
When I think about the time I could have rested, I still have to go to the work, and I feel really reluctant. After all, being on duty does not count as a working day, and this day does not belong to you.
Although I did not actively choose to be on duty, my attitude towards being on duty is something I can decide. Thinking about it, being on duty is quite interesting. You can go for a walk on campus. The important thing is that colleagues and leaders are not around, so I feel very relaxed.
Looking at the empty campus, there is a particularly quiet beauty. I imagined being with the students, and I really wanted to go to work. Although normal work can make people physically and mentally exhausted, the inner fulfillment and wealth make people feel happier.
There are only a few shifts a year, but it’s actually not boring. It is also a very beautiful experience to have an environment to do what you like. I can use the time on duty to be alone with myself. Read a book, drink tea, listen to music, and learn English. It feels like the time passed is both fulfilling and meaningful.
Actually, being on duty is also fun, isn’t it? As long as you have a good attitude, you will be happy no matter what.
