In Premiere, we can drag a certain piece of video material in the project window directly to the timeline.

However, if we want to preview or accurately cut the material, we must use the monitor window. The method is to drag the video material into the source material (Source) preview area of ??the monitor window.

In addition, double-clicking the video or audio material in the project window can also achieve the same effect, as shown in Figure 5.

Skill application

1. Each independent video material and sound material can be placed in the Source monitoring window for playback. Through the playback control button

, you can rewind, forward, stop, play, loop or play the selected area at will. Just like using a VCD remote control.

2. The names of the material files loaded into the Source monitoring window will be recorded by the system. The current material is displayed in the Clip bar below the projection area. Click the inverted small triangle button to display a drop-down list. The material files to be previewed can be retrieved at any time as needed.

3. To the right of the drop-down menu there is a film mark

or a sound mark

, or sometimes both. They are used to indicate whether the material includes a video part and an audio part. When the user does not need a certain part of the material, he can click on the corresponding mark, and the mark will display a red slash to indicate that it is disabled.

4. In order to facilitate the control of materials in subsequent editing, you can mark some key frames by clicking

, selecting Mark from the drop-down menu, and then selecting a mark from the next-level menu. When you need to position it later When you reach a certain mark, just click

, select Go To from the drop-down menu, and then select the mark to accurately locate it.

5. You can see each frame clearly through the playback control button. When you find the starting point, press the

mark. When you find the end point, press the

mark. After selecting the mark area, press

< p>, add the selected part to the timeline. In this way, one or more clips can be accurately intercepted from a material and added to the timeline respectively.

6. The Program in the right half of the monitoring window is mainly used to preview the materials in the timeline, and the selected materials in the timeline can be deleted through buttons.

7. For materials that have entered the timeline, you can directly double-click the material screen in the timeline, and the material will be opened in the monitor window.

8. You can switch the display mode of the monitoring window by clicking the

button at the top of the monitoring window. Click

to change the display window into trimming mode. Press

to display only one playback area.
