Impromptu No.4 in C minor, Op.66 "Fantasia-Impromptu"
Chopin wrote four piano impromptu, from which we can see Chopin's musical genius. The word "improvisation" generally refers to music that composers create temporarily without prior preparation, that is, it is often a temporary inspiration. Perhaps it is for this reason that Chopin's impromptu is quite free in form, but it does not develop irregularly, but has obvious integrity and unity. Therefore, some music critics think: "Chopin's impromptu is in freedom and has a consistent form." It seems free and unique, but it can feel the rigor of composition. "
Among Chopin's four impromptu songs, Fantasy (Op.66, the last work in C minor) is the most popular. This work is extremely difficult, profound and imaginative. This is Chopin's work when he was 24 years old (1834), but it was not until after his death that it was found in the music folder by later generations and published in 1855. The title of Fantasy was taken when it was published. It is said that the author thought that the theme of this piece of music was somewhat similar to an impromptu by French composer Moses, so the author refused to publish it before his death in order to avoid criticism. In fact, the content of this piece is much richer and the structure is much more rigorous than that of Moses. Through this allusion, we can realize the author's rigorous attitude in creation.
The composition of the music consists of three postures: the first is C minor, where the right hand and the left hand meet quickly at different rhythms, giving people an illusion; The middle part is in D flat major, with a beautiful melody like a song, which brings the audience into a beautiful world of fantasy; Then go back to the first paragraph. The melody ending in the middle is repeated in the bass, as if the imaginary world is still going in and out. ...
