Jinan Travel Guide

Route 1: Along the moat

Most of Jinan’s famous attractions are gathered along the moat, including Baotu Spring, Daming Lake, Wulongtan, Quancheng Square, Furong Street, Quancheng Road, Qushuiting Street, Wangfuchi, and some corners of the hutong.

Baotu Spring

Baotu Spring is very famous, and many people choose it as the highlight of their trip to Jinan. Jinan is known as the capital of springs and it is really famous for its springs. However, this season's Baotu Spring is not bubbling, let alone surging. Let's hope it rains soon. If you have enough time, you can go to Baimai Spring in Zhangqiu, which is also a good garden. The following pictures were taken by the author.

Chuncheng Square

Quancheng Square is a place you must go to when you come to Jinan, because it is directly opposite Baotu Spring. The entire square is nothing more than a prominent fountain sign and musical fountain. Every night, the musical fountain is still available, but the fountain in West Wild Goose Pagoda Square is much worse.

Wulongtan

This is a place where you can enjoy the entire park at your doorstep. It is said that this place was formed after the collapse of Qin Qiong's former residence. The environment inside is good, you can go. Tickets are also very cheap, only five yuan.

Quancheng Road

Quancheng Road is the most famous commercial street in Jinan, just like Nanjing Road in Shanghai. There are shopping malls along the street, such as Hang Lung, Ginza, He Jiong, World Trade International, Suning, Gome and other brand stores. The Provincial Government and the Provincial People's Congress are all located next to this street, and they all look like the king of the past.

The following are some unknown places that many people will not go to when they come to Jinan: Jiangjun Temple Street, Bianzhi Lane, and Gaodusi Lane. A large number of Jinan's old customs are preserved here, and it is a pure land hidden in the center of the city.

Lianhua Street

The entrance is on Quancheng Road. It is just a messy snack street with no meaning other than liveliness and pseudo-art. There are Qushuiting Street and Wangmi Pond nearby. Qushuiting Street is an old street, very clean, with few ordinary people, and a good environment, but it is too short.

Daming Lake

Just stroll around the big lake. If you want to see the lake, you'd better go to Hangzhou to see the West Lake. There's really not much to see in this lake, except for Xia's story with the toad that can't scream. The outer ring of the Great Lakes is open to visitors free of charge. Just strolling along the outer circle is enough. There is really no need to waste money in scenic spots, except for wealthy people.

Hu Quan and Jiefang Pavilion

Black Spring is a free spring open to the public. It is very lively in summer and autumn. I guess it will be a bit deserted in winter. But it has Jinan characteristics. Every day, many old Jinan people come here with bottles and cans to fill the spring water. Other cities may not be able to see this scene. The nearby Jiefang Pavilion was once part of the city wall of Jinan's old city, but now only this corner remains.

There are two other places, although not in the moat circle, but very close to here, put them together.

Qianfo Mountain

Qianfo Mountain is one of the three famous scenic spots in Jinan, the other two are Baotu Spring and Daming Lake. This mountain is a fitness place for many Jinan citizens. Many people climb the mountain to exercise in the morning or evening. The most famous attractions on the mountain should be Wanfo Cave and Xingguo Temple. The Buddha Cave is a copycat cave where Buddha statues from caves across the country are collected and sold individually. There is another mountain near Qianfo Mountain, which many Jinan people call Big Buddha Head. Its real name is Fohui Mountain. There is a huge stone Buddha head on the mountain, built in the Song Dynasty, which is worth seeing.

Shandong University Baotuquan Campus

Shandong University Baotuquan Campus was formerly the modern building complex of Qilu University. A male engineering student at Qianfoshan Campus of Shandong University has always dreamed of turning this place into his own back garden. The beautiful architecture and beautiful women must not be missed.

At this point, the moat route has been introduced. This route is estimated to take about three days. It’s not too far to see the scenic spots, but it’s actually quite tiring to walk around. If the above attractions are relatively expensive, you can go after 7 or 8 pm, so that you can get in with the 18 yuan stuffed at the door.

Route 3: Yellow River

In autumn and winter, overlook the Yellow River and feel the vicissitudes and fertility.

Route 4: Southern Mountainous Area

The southern mountainous area is a good place for tourism and vacation. The environment is good and the air is fresh, but it is a bit remote and the transportation is inconvenient. There are many interesting places such as Jiuding Pagoda, Honggu Ye and Lingyan Temple. In fact, the most fun thing in winter is probably the Wohu Mountain Ski Resort. The area is wide and there are many attractions, so it will take more time to complete all the games.

Route 5: Hongjialou Catholic Church, Shandong University Honglou Campus, Shandong University Central Campus.

Hongjialou Church is one of the most famous churches in Jinan. It is magnificent and open to the outside world. The Shandong University Building Campus is nearby, so it’s not a bad idea to go shopping. The campus is not far away and is the most luxurious campus of Shandong University. This campus has a short history and distinctive features. Only Xiaoshulin and Zhixin Tower are famous, so you can go and see them.
