The middle school attached to Xi Conservatory of Music belongs to the upper middle school among the nine middle schools attached to the Conservatory of Music. It is an important base for Xi Conservatory of Music, Central Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music to transport outstanding students. The affiliated middle school is located in the south teaching building, adjacent to the training college. Since its establishment decades ago, it has sent thousands of musical talents to the undergraduate department of the State and Conservatory of Music, including many famous musicians, such as violinist Li Yibin (who later studied at Juilliard), musician Qiao Jianzhong (former director of the Music Research Institute of China Academy of Art) and pianist Wang Bin.

The affiliated middle school of Xi Conservatory of Music is divided into junior high school and senior high school, and its advantages are composition, folk music, orchestral music and piano. For example, Wu Yuxian, a student from the affiliated middle school, has achieved good results in recent years, winning the first place in the piano and violin competitions of CCTV and the second place in the 6th International Youth Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky Music Competition.

As for the dormitory, the high school attached to Xi Conservatory of Music is in the same campus as the university, and so is the dormitory, together with the university dormitory.
