What is it like for a northerner to travel to Hangzhou?
This is my first time in Hangzhou. I must have done my homework before coming. There are countless poems and articles about Hangzhou. There are countless beauties about Hangzhou. With great expectations in my heart, I came to Hangzhou alone. What to watch first? West Lake.
As a northerner, if you see a place that is half city and half water for the first time, you will be somewhat surprised. The air is thick and green trees are everywhere. Su Di in spring is full of red flowers and green willows. Walking on it is warm and welcoming. With beautiful scenery and beautiful people, West Lake lives up to expectations.
The Yue Tomb by the West Lake is a legendary story, a combination of history and stories. The four kneeling statues are still kneeling after so many years. People's hearts have their own justice. Yue Wumu said, "The law of heaven is clear", but it was not there at the time, but it was too late. This is his tragedy. Is it a tragedy for four traitors who have been kneeling for nearly a thousand years? It just depends on the angle from which you stand. I saw an article a few days ago that said that the descendants of four people had applied to let them stand up. I think the kneeling time is enough. I don’t know if it’s true or not? For figures whose history has been finalized, there is no difference between kneeling and standing. They are not a final conclusion, but written into history.
When I walked into Lingyin Temple, the biggest shock I felt was the couplet "How can life be so satisfying, everything can only be half-satisfied". Fourteen words, write your whole life. It is similar to Master Hongyi's "Intersection of Sadness and Joy". Isn’t life just a journey of “sadness and joy”? I'm lucky enough to visit Hangzhou! Feel free to go to the Zhejiang Provincial Museum by the West Lake to see the past and present of Hangzhou and Zhejiang, and to see the traces of the flying geese left by the masters of the past dynasties, which is the biggest reward of the trip.
The long bridge, the short bridge, and the white snake Xu Xian are ordinary sights or spots, but they are brought to life by legends. The graves of Su Xiaoxiao and Wu Song next to each other surprised me the most. Will there be any intersection between a beautiful lady riding a "oil-walled carriage" and a walker with a broken arm? Looking forward to knowing something? After all, I don’t know anything. Being here is one of the charms of traveling. If you know everything, you will lose meaning and the motivation to move forward.
The West Lake looks different in the evening. "Leifeng Sunset" is well-deserved. In the afternoon, we visited Leifeng Pagoda. Not only did we see the legendary white snake, but we also saw Buddha relics that we had never known before. The design of the new tower wrapping the old tower is quite creative. Listening to the "Nanping Evening Bell", walking across the Long Bridge, and watching the setting sun at Leifeng Peak, it's so beautiful that you doubt your life. Delicate, beautiful, and delicious! This is a completely different feeling and experience from the north. Although I had expected and prepared mentally before, when I finally arrived, played and watched, I was still ecstatic.
I think of the folk houses in Liu Yong's "Looking at the Sea Tide": "The lakes are stacked with beautiful scenery, with three autumn osmanthus seeds and ten miles of lotus flowers." I also think of Luo Dajing, who was also from the Song Dynasty, in "Helin Jade Dew." There is a passage in Volume 1 of "Part B": "Liu Qiqing wrote the poem "Looking at the Tide of the Sea". This poem was circulated, and the gold owner Liang heard the song and was delighted to admire "three autumns of osmanthus and ten miles of lotus", so he aspired to cross the river with a whip. "I don't know the origin of Luo Dajing's words, but suddenly I feel that there is some truth.
"It is better when the water is clear and clear, and the mountains are also strange when they are empty and rainy. If you want to compare the West Lake to the West, it is always suitable to put on light makeup and heavy makeup." This song was the first to appear on the island in the middle of the lake. poetry. It’s not just the island in the middle of the lake. Every step you take in Hangzhou West Lake changes the scenery.
If you have a chance, come to West Lake again. There are still so many sights that we haven’t had time to visit, and there are so many delicious foods that we haven’t had time to taste. But let me say something negative, the West Lake vinegar fish is really not delicious. Ha ha.
Although I am from the south, let me answer it! Let me talk about my northern friends’ experiences of traveling to Hangzhou!
1. Winter in Hangzhou is colder than in the north!
"Winter in Hangzhou is colder than in the north. Do you freeze to death?" This is what a friend of mine from the Northeast told me when he came to Hangzhou for tourism. So I asked, "The winter in the Northeast is minus 20-30 degrees. Is it warmer than Hangzhou? I don't believe it."
My friends from the Northeast explained it this way. Although the outdoor temperature in the Northeast winter does reach minus 30 degrees, But our room has heating, so watching TV in long johns is something I often do. But if you go outdoors, it’s okay to wear more clothes. However, Hangzhou is too wet and cold in winter. If the air conditioner is not turned on, it will be even colder than outside. I admire your Hangzhou people's ability to resist freezing.
2. Hangzhou’s speech is too gentle
This is what a Shandong friend of mine said to me when he visited Hangzhou: “You Hangzhou people are too gentle in your speech! Boys and girls are like this!” Indeed, the Hangzhou dialect itself sounds very soft and gentle, and the Hangzhou people are also very friendly.
3. The West Lake Scenic Area is full of people at all times
This is what a friend from Xi’an told me: “I have been to Hangzhou several times, and every time I have to go to West Lake. But why are there so many people every time, whether it’s Golden Week or weekends?” Indeed, after all, West Lake is very famous, and there are many places worth seeing, and there is no charge. Therefore, tourists from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, other places in the country, and even international tourists must come to see the beautiful scenery of West Lake in Hangzhou.
Of course, I just gave three small examples above. Everyone from the north who travels to Hangzhou should have a different impression of Hangzhou. In fact, every city is more or less different, so What is your impression of Hangzhou?
That is definitely a world between heaven and earth. Except for the capital and Tianjin, other places in the north are definitely not as good as those south of the Yangtze River. Hangzhou is talking about the provincial capital of Zhejiang. Compared with other provincial capitals in the north, it is definitely not on the same level. Hangzhou is a city with mountains and rivers, and its package development and economy are hard to compare with. All aspects of the city's facilities and transportation are better than other cities in the north. Except for the capital Tianjin, several cities in the north have subways. The urban greening in the north cannot compare to Hangzhou. When you arrive in Hangzhou, you will feel the charm of the capital of Zhejiang Province. As the saying goes, there is heaven above and Suzhou and Hangzhou below. This cannot be true.
Seeing the Three Pools Reflecting the Moon on a boat is not as spectacular as using RMB to see it. This is what I thought after I first came to Hangzhou and saw the West Lake, the first scenic spot. But after staying for a long time, I realized that this is a city that needs to be savored carefully. It is recommended to stay in Hangzhou for a while. Only then did I realize the beauty of this city.
Any remote bathroom in Hangzhou is very clean
A long time ago, from the books I read and other people’s reputation, I learned that Hangzhou is a real paradise on earth, so Always longed for it!
I purposely traveled there in September nine years ago. I got off the plane and took a bus to the city. The road was lush and green everywhere, and the scenery was super beautiful. After arriving in the city, I chose a hotel in the city center to stay. , first take a walk on the street.
What impressed me the most is that the girls in Hangzhou are generally beautiful, with delicate skin, the unique gentleness of Jiangnan women, and soft-spoken voices. As a female man from the north, I really envy their watery temperament!
Of course, what impressed me most was Hangzhou’s food. The most famous thing in Hangzhou is the West Lake Vinegar Fish, which is sour, sweet and refreshing, without the greasiness of the sweet and sour fish in Sichuan cuisine. Of course, in the afternoon, I ordered drunken shrimp, sweet and sour short ribs, Hangzhou Sanxian delicacies, etc. at a restaurant by the West Lake. They all tasted great. Compared to restaurants in the north, the portions per plate were small, but very exquisite!
After dinner in the evening, we went to the West Lake to see the musical fountain at eight o'clock. Although it was raining lightly, it was the first time to see such a large musical fountain. I was fascinated by the ever-changing water flow in the music and lights. It was shocking. It felt like fairies in the sky were waving their sleeves. The unpredictable and spectacular scene made people mesmerized. After watching it, I was still unsatisfied. To this day, I think it was the most beautiful musical fountain light show I have ever seen. !
The next day I signed up for a one-day tour group to visit Hangzhou’s scenic spots. The first place I went to was the famous Linyin Temple. On the way, the tour guide talked about the past and present life of Lingyin Temple and said that it is very popular there. Several roads were built with incense money donated by Lingyin Temple, so after arriving at Lingyin Temple, I spent more than 100 yuan to buy three bouquets of incense and burn incense to pray for blessings. Of course, there are indeed many people worshiping Buddha in the temple. The temple is filled with smoke!
I went to the West Lake after the rain stopped in the afternoon. There were lotuses growing everywhere in the West Lake. The overall feeling was that there was a lake within the lake, a scene outside the scenery, and a garden within the garden.
Taking a boat all the way through Yuehu Lake, Yanggongdi, Huayuan, Shangxiang Ancient Road, Wuguitan, Xiaonan Lake, etc., it feels like walking into the flowing light-ink landscape. It’s also strange to see rain in the sky”!
Of course, we later went to Broken Bridge and Leifeng Pagoda. When we climbed to the top of Leifeng Pagoda, we could overlook the real West Lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the West Lake.
The scenery on Bai Causeway is average, but there are provincial museums, art galleries, etc. The longest section of Su Causeway has the most beautiful scenery, with green willows.
Later, the tour guide also took us to visit the local silk and tea production areas.
My overall impression of Hangzhou is that everything is green and picturesque as far as the eye can see, but it rains a lot and endlessly. Of course, it is not as beautiful as a paradise as originally imagined. After all, it is commercialized. The city seems to be similar to other cities!
In recent years, I have been to Hangzhou again for business. As a northerner, I feel that the city’s civilized level and the cultural quality of its residents are relatively high. They speak slowly and feel that everyone is polite and obeys the rules. Traffic rules, hard-working and pragmatic, and rich in business acumen.
The first time I went to Hangzhou was more than ten years ago, because the idea that there is heaven above and Suzhou and Hangzhou below is so deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. I just visited the West Lake and saw the tea gardens in Lingyin and I felt it was so beautiful that I couldn’t believe it [face covering] at that time I just thought, living in Hangzhou is really like living in paradise [呲呲]
What I didn’t expect is that because my son is working and settling down in Hangzhou, now I am also living in paradise because I am visiting my grandson [呲呲] [呲呲 ]
As a northerner, my experience in Hangzhou is that Hangzhou is really beautiful! West Lake is only part of the scenic spot, there are so many beautiful attractions! The weather in Hangzhou is so hot in the summer and freezing in the winter [covers face] There are too many mosquitoes that bite! Prices are a bit high, and the eating habits of the north and the south are much different. Wait a minute [呲呲]
I think Hangzhou is pretty good, and the beauty of Hangzhou needs to be appreciated slowly [like][like] [Rose][Rose]
Hangzhou has four distinct seasons, so you need to prepare clothes for all seasons. Hangzhou is still green in winter, while winter in the north is yellow. Most people in the north eat meat, so the food in Hangzhou is relatively balanced. , seafood, chicken and duck are all available in the river. The difference between the north and the south due to climate is normal. In fact, Hangzhou is not considered the standard south, it is slightly northerly
What is it like for northerners to travel to Hangzhou? It depends on when he comes to Hangzhou. If it’s summer, it’s one word: hot! Two words: too hot!
Why do you say that? I once received a tourist group from the north (Inner Mongolia) during the hottest time in Hangzhou. It happened to be our unique sauna day in the south of the Yangtze River. The weather was muggy and hot. As soon as the tourists arrived in Hangzhou, they complained that the heat was unbearable. "Isn't this Jiangnan? Why is it so hot?" When walking on the Su Causeway and swimming in the West Lake, the male group members all took off their shirts, wore big pants, and only hung a towel around their necks. They swam shirtless in the West Lake. It was hot. I picked up the towel from my neck and wiped the sweat. Although the image was not good, I also expressed my understanding. According to them, they had never experienced such a hot weather since they were young and it was really unbearable.
When we arrived in Shanghai, some people finally couldn't hold on while swimming on the Bund. Three of them fainted on the spot and were sent directly to the hospital where they were hospitalized. The doctor said they had heatstroke. That tour group kept me extremely busy, shuttling between scenic spots and hospitals.
Heat should be a profound experience for northern tourists in Hangzhou in summer.
“There is paradise above, and Suzhou and Hangzhou below”, “Recalling the south of the Yangtze River, the most memorable thing is Hangzhou”, “If you want to compare the West Lake to the West, it is always appropriate to put on light makeup and heavy makeup.” The beauty of Hangzhou has been praised by many literati since ancient times. There is no doubt about the beauty of Hangzhou.
However, although I am from the north, the city where I live also has many lakes, so the West Lake in Hangzhou did not surprise me.
Compared with the beauty of Hangzhou, the heat of Hangzhou in summer left a deeper impression on me. It was summer vacation that year when I went to Hangzhou. There was a sea of ??people at the West Lake, and sweat stains were clearly visible on everyone’s back. Although I was by the lake, I couldn't feel the slightest breeze, just the sweltering heat like a sauna. As a northerner, I break out in sweat as soon as I go out, my hair has never been dried, and I hold a fan in my hand and keep fanning it. Seeing how the locals are enjoying themselves in such a hot summer, I can’t help but wonder, aren’t they afraid of the heat?
Just as southerners cannot understand the cold in the north, northerners cannot understand the heat in the south.
Of course, Hangzhou not only left me with the impression of hot weather, Longjing shrimps, West Lake vinegar fish, Dongpo pork, all kinds of delicacies will tempt your taste buds all the time, leaving you lingering and lingering aftertaste. endless!
