Zhang Yimou (1951.1.14-) is a director, photographer and actor. People from Xi, Shaanxi.
1968 after graduating from junior high school, he jumped the queue to work in the rural areas of Ganxian County, Shaanxi Province, and then worked as a worker in the Eighth National Cotton Mill in Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province.
1978 studied in the photography department of Beijing Film Academy.
1982 worked as a photographer in Guangxi Film Studio after graduation.
