The origin of the name:

Mayuan is an urban village in Kunming, where bands at that time often rehearsed and performed. Kuguo was 22 years old at the time, and the band stayed at this place for about a year and a half. It was the only livehouse in Yunnan at the time.

When looking at the names of other bands, such as No. 43 Baojia Street and Convenience Store, Kuguo and his teammates wanted to name Mayuan, but they couldn’t think of it after thinking for a long time and spent the whole night searching. I didn’t even come up with a dictionary, so one of my teammates said we should call them Mayuan Poet, and the band’s name was born.

Introduction to Mayuan Poets:

Mayuan Poets is a rock music group established in October 2007. The members include Kuguo, Lin Xiao, Yu Xiaoqiang, and Ji Wei. The music style is Grunge. Mayuan Poets has won the second place in the Pepsi Heroes Yunnan Division Competition and the second place in the Youth Music Season Competition of the First Animation Music Festival.

On April 18, 2016, the team released its first official album "Mother Star" . The demo compilation album "Fig" was released on April 19 of the same year. On April 1, 2017, the second album was released, titled "The Man Who Doesn't Like Talking". The album was mainly created from 2016 to March 2017 and contains five singles. It is a pop rock record that focuses on feelings and reflects the inner journey of the creator.

On December 28 of the same year, the album "Nothing More" was released. On April 25, 2019, the compilation album "Sing His Song II" was released. This album features Mayuan Poets and Zeng Nan performing each other's songs. On March 6, 2022, Mayuan Poet released the album "The Sound of Closed Eyes".

Concert tour:

In 2020, the band joined Beijing Boshan Entertainment Culture Media Co., Ltd. On August 23, 2020, the joint tour of Mayuan Poet and Steel Heart Band ushered in the final performance in Beijing. For this performance, Kuguo mentioned that he had recently signed a contract with Boshan Entertainment and Xie Tianxiao facilitated this cooperation.

From June 26 to 27, 2021, participate in the "Gexian Village Nebula Music Festival" held at the Music Plaza of Gexian Village Resort in Shangrao, Jiangxi. In August, he participated in the 2021 Heze Poster Music Festival. In 2022, the national tour of the band's new album of the same name "The Sound of Closed Eyes" will begin, and the Shanghai leg of the tour was sold out as soon as it opened.
