What is harmony?

Harmony is a sound combination formed by two or more different notes sounding at the same time according to certain rules

To put it bluntly, it is to study how to proceed from one chord to another. Sounds good and reasonable.

Chord is the basic material of harmony. It consists of 3 or more different tones, which are combined simultaneously according to the superposition of thirds or other methods. This is the vertical structure of harmony.

Harmonic progression refers to the sequential connection of chords, which is the lateral movement of harmony. I would like to add that harmony has obvious color effects of thick, light, thick and thin; it also has the function of forming phrases, dividing sections and terminating the music.
