Dongba culture and its music showed the ancient Naxi people the value of survival and courage, and also inspired their confidence in living and their pursuit of future goals. For the ancient Naxi ancestors, the Dongba religion and its entire culture have faithfully recorded the life history of the Naxi ancestors from ancient migration to nomadism, hunting, farming, etc. From ancient times to the present, Dongba priests have also used Dongba art and the high-level, abstract spiritual needs of music to spread religious doctrines and unite national (racial) beliefs. In this sense, Dongba singing music not only spreads and preserves part of the content of Dongba oral chanting in the form of singing, but also plays a historical role in the preservation of Dongba culture that cannot be underestimated.
