The Second International Guzheng Competition

1. There is no restriction on the nationality of the contestants.

2. The registration form can be downloaded from the Huayin website at www.huain.com.

3. Two recent 2-inch photos, copies of ID card and passport (overseas contestants)

Preliminary competition format:

Selection competitions will be organized by each locality from now on. After passing the trials, they will enter the Hong Kong finals (limited quota). Players who enter the finals will receive a finals notification from the organizing committee.

Final categories:

1. Junior non-professional group A (under 14 years old) has designated repertoire

2. Junior non-professional group B (15- 17 years old) has designated repertoire

3. Youth non-professional group (over 18 years old) has designated repertoire

4. Youth professional group (under 17 years old) has designated repertoire

5. Young professional group (over 18 years old) has designated repertoire

6. Overseas group (areas outside mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan): no age limit, no limit on repertoire, Time limit is 6 minutes

7. Professional ensemble: The format is limited to duet, trio, quartet, there is no limit to the repertoire, and the time limit is 8 minutes.

Contestants must choose one piece from the designated piece, and the time limit is 6 minutes.

Specified traditional repertoire for the Junior Professional Group:

(Traditional repertoire version is not limited)

Youth Professional Group, Youth Professional Competitors of the group must choose one piece from the designated traditional repertoire and one piece of their own choice. (The self-selected piece for the Junior Professional Group is a modern piece created after 1960, and the Young Professional Group is a modern piece created after 1990.) The total time limit for the two pieces is 10 Minutes, you can choose your own sections to play.

Final format: solo, ensemble (accompaniment is not accepted)

Final rules:

1. The final is divided into Junior Non-Professional Group A and Junior Non-Professional Group B Group, Youth Non-Professional Group, Youth Professional Group, Youth Professional Group, Overseas Group, Professional Ensemble Group.

2. The finals will be drawn by lot to determine the order in which the players will appear.

3. The final results will be scored by 9 judges on the spot. The highest score and the lowest score will be removed, and the final score will be determined by the average score of the remaining 7 judges. Announced on the spot

4. The organizing committee shall preside over all competition work. Never allow interference with the results of the competition or abnormal events to occur, and ensure that the finals are conducted under the principles of openness, fairness and impartiality.

5. Players participating in the finals should arrive at the competition venue on time and wait. If they leave the venue without permission or are late, they will be disqualified from the finals.

6. Players must obey the instructions of the staff. Keep the arena quiet. Keep it clean

and take care of public facilities.

Awards:

There will be one gold medal, two silver medals and three bronze medals for each category in the finals. The others will be outstanding performance awards.

The instructors of gold, silver and bronze medalists will receive the Outstanding Teacher Award.

The award certificate has the autographs of nine judges.

The judging panel is composed of internationally renowned artists, and the final decision is irrevocable.

The organizing committee of the gold, silver and bronze medal players will hold a large-scale "Second International Guzheng Competition Winning Players Concert" in Hong Kong and Macau.

Another: The opening ceremony and the concert of 9 judges and experts will be held at 7:30 pm on July 18, 2011.

On July 19, 20, and 21, 2011, two expert judges will give master classes from 2 to 4 pm every day.
