The actual creation and production of the soundtrack must be completed by a professional team. These works were jointly produced by Li Hongchao, chief banhu pianist of Henan Luoyang Henan Opera Theatre, invited by Han Hong, and Zebra Forest, a famous band in Luoyang.
The direction of the soundtrack proposed by director Zhang Yimou is the mix of drama and rock, so the excerpts from the classic repertoire of Henan Opera "Mu Shuai" and Mulan's "Bao Gong Tan Yin Shan" are selected in the soundtrack. After the inspection by Zhang Yimou and Han Hong, ten songs were revised many times and finally included in the film "Man Jiang Hong".
Creation background
Director Zhang Yimou once said in an interview with CCTV that because Yue Jiajun is mostly from Henan, the first thing that comes to mind is Henan Opera. Han Hong, a famous singer who wrote the score for "Man Jiang Hong", was the composer of the score for the first time. She invited Li Hongchao, the chief banhu pianist of Henan Luoyang Henan Opera Theatre, to co-produce with the famous band Zebra Forest in Luoyang.
According to the creator, there are many clips of actors running in the film to promote the progress of the plot. The style of Henan Opera is playful and sloppy, mixed with vivid and simple atmosphere. Most of the "mortal" heroes in "Man Jiang Hong" are ordinary people who insist on the righteousness in their hearts. The use of Henan opera is in line with the position of the characters in the film.
In the film, Zhang Xiaoying, the famous master of Henan Opera and the first "ugly girl" in the Central Plains, sang the vocal aria of Henan Opera with intense rhythm and high voice. Zhang Xiaoying was born in a family of Liyuan, and he is good at Henan Opera, Quju Opera, Yuediao Opera and Sketch.
