Zhang Yu studied banking and insurance at Feng Chia University in Taiwan

He got his first piano at the age of ten (third grade of elementary school), and has been inseparable from music ever since.

In junior high school, he wrote his first song "White Dove" and began his career in music creation.

When he was in junior high school, with his deep love for music and a guitar, he formed the "Scarecrow Chorus" with four male and four female members.

At the age of twenty (first year of college), he participated in the ICRT "Youth Star" competition, and thus began his life of singing in various folk songs

Western restaurants.

After graduating from college in 1990, he served as Li Zongsheng’s music production assistant (Brother Yu: This is a misinformation, in fact, he can’t even be called an assistant!). Later, he had the opportunity to work with Li Zongsheng. "Big Brother" studied arranging, borrowed more than 200,000 yuan to buy MIDI, and never used a single piece of music he arranged. Later, I worked in a product company for three months. (Zhang Yu: The company gave me a lot! Because every product company sells different products, they have to undergo three months of pre-employment training. During these three months

you will receive a salary. You will be given a 10% discount at the beginning. After three months, you will receive a final

10% off salary after proving that you can officially work. A reissue for you. In the past three months, I shamelessly asked for money from my family to study for the TOEFL exam. I spent two days studying English, but suddenly I found that English is so difficult! MIDI is always difficult. In the last week, my colleagues helped me check in and skip work to go to Kenting with Shiyilang. After I came back, I had just finished three years in the product company.

It has been a month, and the last discounted salary has been paid, and I have been paid for three full months, so I felt very embarrassed about the product company! Later, I didn’t go to work in the product company anymore) , I lost my job after working for a few months, and then

had to face the problem, and finally decided to go back to singing folk songs, so Shiyilang and I discussed when

should go to Taichung Singing, when should I go to Taipei to sing? Since Zhang Yu is familiar with Taichung’s folk songs and Western restaurants, he wanted to stay in Taichung and sing, but Shiyilang said no, because singing in Taipei would increase the chance of being discovered. It is relatively big, so most of the songs

must be sung in Taipei...

Introduced by my friend Yuan Weiren in 1992 (for the first time, Brother Zheng scolded Yuan Weiren: "How could you introduce A singer who sings so badly?" Yuan Weiren also explained for Zhang Yu that it was because he just had a cold... Later, he made an appointment to meet Brother Zheng, and Brother Zheng later said that his singing voice was actually OK...) However, he was discovered by Cai Zongzheng and joined Dagun Productions.

From then on, he crossed the threshold of Mandarin pop music and recorded his first solo album.

In 1994, he established "Xide Music Production" and joined EMI.
